True Now go out and win the series Shame we lost in the top of the 9th with 1 out...allowed them 7 runs in the top of the 9th..sigh
Slater and Nesbitt. Both can handle it I’m w slack. Kid has already made plays and he’s a freshman. Pitchers gotta pitch. Not the Freshman outfielders fault. Hopeful Sully gives Slater and Nesbitt the ball in innings 6-9 tomorrow night. Relievers got shelled tonight.
Mental toughness has to set in on our guys before they leave the clubhouse tonight. We’ve got a series to win.
Ugly ugly loss. Tomorrow a new day. Not gonna be upset about 2 freshman in the 9th that didn’t have great at bats. They be are freshman ( one a redshirt).
Tough loss. 2 unearned runs and we stranded 12 base runners. Bullpen collapsed and we lost. Give Georgia credit for not giving up and continuing to battle. I think Robertson is going to be a really good ball player. But he's gotta make that catch in center. Plus, he got to take more advantage of his speed and stop hitting fly balls. Bunt some, go with the pitch and shoot it the opposite way. They are going to come out tomorrow all fired up and we need to jump on them early and often and take the momentum back where it belongs.
Frustration is completely justified. We’re making it very hard on ourselves to be SEC champions when we lose games to Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia at home. A sweep in two of those would have been huge, with Vandy, SC, and Kentucky coming up. Is what it is.
The end goal is to be in the top 8 to host to Omaha. Our program will always love a regular season SEC title and/or SEC tournament title, but our goal is the Natty. Miami is flirting with a basketball title so we need to make sure we have 2 in every major sport before they get 1 in each!
Way tough on Robertson. Pitchers got hit and should have been pulled quicker. This is Florida where we have guys to come in and close the door. Haven’t heard one word about Cags play which was a straight E. Could have easily stepped on first. Truth is we should have never lost this game. Bad games happen and can be major in helping if coaches and players learn from their mistakes.
We need to put this loss in the rear view mirror ( nothing we can do to change the outcome, so no use in " beating a dead horse", hopefully our team and coaches learn from this) Focus on one game at a time and win the series...as long as we win the series, it isn't that bad... Go Gators
Why are folks ragging on Robertson? Neely had no bite to his breaking pitches - they were flat and hittable... and the big defensive blunder in the 9th was Cags'-- with an accurate throw to 2nd or if he takes the sure out at first- that's two outs and possibly a different final outcome. We may look back on this disastrous collapse as a pivotal moment in the season. Gotta get off the deck and win the series now- if not- I'd circle this loss as a possible turning point.
Yep, I’m pretty sure Sully realizes his pitchers didn’t close and we did have an E in the field. Love that afterwards he protects Prevesk and Heyman for those AB’s in the 9th. He realizes freshman are freshman ( RS in Prevesk’s case) and they’ll learn from this. If you’d ask Sully after the game about concerns he or any other legit manager would talk pitchers hanging pitches and throwing it in the heart and an error on a play when we could have stepped on first. He’d never say the centerfielder should have caught the laser hit 400 to center or his freshman hitters should have put bat on ball in the 9th. That’s why I like a sully, because he will accept responsibility and realize tonight two guys that usually have it didn’t have it. I also think he will be much less patient with bull pen after tonight.
Thank you! Seems like he’s an easy guy to pick on. Funny no one mentioned Cags error until you and I brought it up. Pitchers didn’t have it tonight. I bet they will next time.
Just back from the game. Why wasn't Condon walked with second open? Major blunder. Wheels just fell off in the ninth. Painful to watch. I give the Gators credit for trying to come back in the bottom of the inning. Just one clutch hit away from tying it up leaving runners in scoring position.
Well u've now mentioned Cags error at least twice and the bullpen failures about 10 times so I think it's all been noted including some questionable coaching decisions. . Time to move on.
My first post after the game was 2 unearned runs and 12 LOB. No need to mention whose error led to those 2 unearned runs. It was the only one of the game. It was a team loss. Started in the first when we had the bases loaded and didn't score.
