It is strange, I have not met one doctor, including the 3 I am related to through marriage, who has not been fully vaccinated, does not recommend a full vaccination series for their patients and despite their political persuasions are not 100% opposed to ignorance in all its forms...including Republican led anti-vaxx ignorance.

I am also related to handful of high school dropouts that read that same Twitter cr@p as Q and will swear left, right and center the vaccine does not work and it is poison.

I did speak with a high school friend months ago, for the first time in decades. He is a D.O but only practices a bit on the side. He was griping about military vaccine mandates and at one point he said (I think…) the mRNA vaccines work differently and change your DNA. I was dumbfounded and said that wasnt true but quickly realized arguing with a physician is pointless. I didn’t ask and don’t know if he was actually vaccinated.

So I expect a small percent are out there. In some cases you may be a “doctor” but you aren’t necessarily on the leading edge of treatment, at least not enough to overcome political biases.

No. It is called the numbers. No one is taking the shot anymore by in large. The numbers speak for themselves.

I know more than most took the original series. Propaganda/Fear/Coercion are powerful tools. But most now do not recommend the shots. I am sure they did recommend the shots back in 2021. We are in 2023 with a lot more information.

And please do not misrepresent my stance. I dont use tweeter and while I do think the shots are dangerous now that time has played out. I recommended high risk groups take them in the beginning.

mRNA is not going to be the "leading edge" of vaccine technology...

I mean, Sherri Tenpenny is also an MD technically, and she’s about as crazy as they get. There are definitely doctors that have no business being in that field and are an embarrassment to the science and medical community.

I dunno man have you read about any of the cancer vaccine trials? Some of the preliminary data is promising

Funny thing about doctors. Almost none of them are virologists or even understand infectious diseases. Everyone acts like doctors are these supremely educated people who hold all of this knowledge, but let's be honest. The average GP knows next to nothing beyond the very superficial facets of medicine that touch their practice 99.9% of the time.

A GP's only role is to point me in the direction of specialist if I need anything more than a physical or vaccination.

I certainly could be wrong. And I do think you make a good point with regards to where mRNA technology will likely be most promising. But this pandemic set mRNA back big time when it comes to vaccine technology imo.

    Cancer treatment…I can see it.

And you have it right that they are not pointing people to take these shots anymore. The numbers show this.

There is no more evidence for viruses than for witchcraft. 2020ff was the Salem Witch Trials on a global scale. And now they want to move on …

Firstly, now that 70% of the adult population is fully vaccinated (3 shots of the mRNA vaccine), there is no compelling data that suggests the we need to continue getting booster shots. On that point, I fully agree. Latest data shows T-Cell response still effective 18 months from vaccination.

Next, for people at higher risk (over 65, diabetic and compromised immune systems) doctors continue to suggest a booster on a regular schedule. While the AMA has not settled on a recommendation, it looks like at least 2x a year for that group is going to be the suggestion

    * Note - FDA is reviewing a proposal to change the suggestion for Flu shots from once per season to twice, with the initial shot before the height of flu season (Sept/Oct) and a second in Jan/Feb

Finally, based on information shared by actual experts in the field like Paul Offett, Shane Crotty, Vincent Racciniello and others, along with data I have read for myself in refereed papers, I embrace the definition of "fully vaccinated" is 3 shots. In my case, that was the 2 prime shots 6 weeks apart, and a lone booster ~ 9 months later (further study has shown that 4-6 weeks apart for the prime series is much too soon, but we were in a global pandemic). Also, due to how effectively the T-cell epitopes are conserved across all variants, and how long germinal centers appear to remain active after vaccination, there is no basis for the average person to continue to take shots, or any reason to get the Bi-valent shot unless it is part of the 3 shot series.

Studies do show that following infection there is similarly long lived protection from severe disease, with the caveat that data have also confirmed that the virus damages the CD8+ T-cell response in some percentage of those infected (young and old alike), much like HIV and Hepatitus-C.

I'm posting this chart again because I want to know how @QGator2414 reconciles the following statements that the vaccine was a failure, the vaccine had only a therapeutic effect in the beginning, and mRNA vaccines have no future with the data from the graphs above.

As a reminder, prior to mRNA vaccines, the most common way to create a vaccine was to inject chicken eggs with live viruses and extract them in the hopes of finding a mutated (attenuated) strain of the virus that had the right mRNA to promote an immune response, but didn't cause the host to have symptoms of the sickness. Finding the right attenuated virus could often take years, meaning it's possible, we still wouldn't have a vaccine today had we tried the old way. In fact, highly unlikely, especially when you consider the avian flu significantly cut supply of chicken eggs, which is part of the reason egg prices spiked so high recently, since supply was significantly cut short.

Q might say this is fine. Just let everyone get sick and use natural immunity. But again, areas that tried this from the start quickly reversed course. And thousands of people died needlessly because of it. How many more millions would have died had the vaccine not been invented when it did? Again, look at the data above before answering this question. Maybe Q is really Thanos, and wants a significant portion of the population to pass?

^ Same graph can be used to posit vaccine deaths.

I think you have finally gotten there. If you think I (who never took the shot) should go take the shots now based on the disease and seroprevalence then you are still falling for the propaganda. I somehow survived lol. And yes I am being somewhat flippant. Because this whole thing has been a flat out disaster with the one size fits all approach.

But there is no reason I need to take these shots. In fact there are reasons I do not need to…

    LOL…

First you have to trust the data. Which is really hard to do. It is why I focused so much on the hard numbers out of England which was the closest to decent data we could get. I could make up a chart like you as well and post it. It is just a graph. A made up graph for all we know. One you could have sat at your computer and made.

It is 2023. You will get there my friend.

We’re all living in the Cult of Perpetual Fear.

Mirror poll has 66% of Brits clamoring for reintroduction of masks.

Such BS. The data is the data. And it's the same everywhere. Here's a report from Great Britain looking at COVID deaths by vaccination status Between April, 2021, and December, 2022. Their findings:

    • Monthly age-standardised mortality rates (ASMRs) for deaths involving coronavirus (COVID-19) have been consistently lower for all months since booster introduction in September 2021 for people who had received at least a third dose or booster at least 21 days ago, compared with unvaccinated people and those with just a first or second dose.
    • "People who had received at least a third dose, or booster, of a COVID-19 vaccine have been less likely to die from COVID-19 since September 2021 compared with people who are unvaccinated."
Are you going to say you don't trust the Great Britain data now? Or should I post other country's data that all say the same thing, so you can say you can't trust anyone in the world, except for idiots on YouTube in lab coats that say what you want to hear?
