Trying to get my mind around our scholarship roster, I figured others may be feeling the same way. Here's where I have us as of Kublickas news (new additions): Richard ('22/'23 So) 6'4" Aberdeen (Fr) 6'5" Kugel (Fr) 6'5" Szymczyk (Fr) 6'10" Kublickas (Incoming Fr) 6'1" Clayton (Iona So transfer) 6'2" Pullin (UC Riverside Sr transfer) 6'4" Rishwain (USanFran Sr transfer) 6'5" Jarvis (Yale grad transfer) 6'8" Haugh (Incoming Fr) 6'9" Samuel (Seton Hall Sr transfer) 6'10" Condon (Incoming Fr) 6'11" Handlogten (Marshall Fr transfer) 7'1" So still have three four three two one no more spots. EDIT: last update reflects Kublickas recruitment
It's almost time to start talking depth chart! At least we have a workable, if not outright strong, starting five.
It's Condon not Congdon. Personally, I think for the remaining three roster spots Todd could use another PG (Perry?), a physical PF (Samuel?) and a stretch forward with a good shooting percentage out to 3 ( Khalifa?). Piece of cake. Next season's roster set by end of the weekend.
Pretty clear that TG is making height and body composition a priority. Fudge is tall, but probably the only player you could consider "lanky" or thin on the team.
I like what I’m seeing with the transfer additions. I see a top ten nationally ranked high school recruit is asking out of his letter of intent to Duke due to Flipowski’s decision to return for another season. Any chance we could get in on Mgbako?
I suspect he we keep one spot open in case the prep PG from Nevada, Thomas, reclassifies. But it definitely looks like we take two more transfers.
I'd like to see a starting 5 who would rather chew their own arm off than take a loss. And more than one with the skill to do something about it. Tired of soft guys in Gator uniforms who are more concerned with what's in the mirror instead of on the scoreboard. We've had some notable exceptions over the past 15 years, but rarely more than one at a time.
That's a young 10. As for starters (as of today), maybe (starter / reserve): Clayton 6'2" / Aberdeen Richard 6'4" / Aberdeen Kugel 6'5" / Haugh Jarvis 6'8" / Fudge Handlogten 7'1" / Condon / Szymczyk Definitely need more backcourt depth
He's a lanky one for sure, but he REALLY elevates. I think he'll thrive from the weakside as a rebounder paired with a stronger big. He came up with some outstanding shot blocks this season. Just needs to understand shot selection. Down and distance, ya know.
Yeah, I'd say we need another guard. A combo, someone that can run the point a bit, play the 2, and even the 3.
What's the pecking order here? C/PF: Khalifa or Samuels? Still holding a lottery ticket for some others like Flory Bidunga and Jesse Edwards? PG: Tylor Perry or Bynum? Harris and possibly others as insurance?
Bidunga is a 2024 high school kid … he wouldn’t join the roster until then so high school pecking order of his class won’t have much if any Impact on the portal guys (unless we find dominant nba talent bigs with multiple years left to play in the portal).
If we get him, we may as well get ready for the horrible attempts at jokes by the SEC Network and ESPN crews. lol
