The idea of MITIGATION seems to be lost on people. Just because it’s possible to kill someone with a bat or a knife or a revolver doesn’t mean AR-15s and high capacity magazines aren’t more efficient if your goal is to maximize the loss of human life. The idea is to put roadblocks in the way of psychos who are trying to kill as many people as possible.
An insane person was allowed to buy and own a high capacity rifle capable of penetrating the average bullet proof vest.
My guns sit safely in my safe and one by the bedside. No one has figured out the nut case or angry person shooting innocents.. Now we are seeing the mental illness that comes from the pronoun crew. The school shooter in Nashville wasn’t villified but given a victim status I believe. So by all means blame guns alone. It’s a more complicated issue.
I find a lot of bad thinking in the world & this thread reminds me of it. Here's an example: X causes a problem which we'll call Y, hence, the only solution to Y is to address X. Yes, that will work sometimes, but in many situations, the solution to Y may have nothing to do with addressing X. That is, the optimal solution to a problem may be INDEPENDENT of the cause of the problem.
He also lives in a country that has taught him that everyone is a victim, that his pain is a result of other peoples actions, and that other people need to pay for his pain. He believes that his pain is the center of the universe.
To use your analogy of drugs, some here have a position on guns that would be analogous to calling for banning the manufacture of fentanyl and oxycodone, both of which have legitimate uses, because some people misuse them and die.
And some people would be against requiring a prescription to legally possess them because it's a "slippery slope" as to who gets to decide who qualifies for a prescription.
Yes. I think it’s much more occurring here than in other countries. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Europe, and I don’t get the sense of victimhood there.
No, I am not lying. It was not clear in your post who was the guy celebrating the human sacrifices. Are you saying that I am celebrating that, or the shooter in the bank was celebrating that?
If true, sounds like victimhood is more a by product of capitalism than socialism. Those getting left behind are victims of the system in all. Just a thought.
That might well be one of the reasons. I think, however, it is more sociological that economic. For my viewpoint, even though now the right-wing has latched onto the concept of victimhood, the left-wing are ones who developed this concept decades ago and propagated it.
This is a thread about a bank shooting. The obscurity of your post was bringing in Easter cryptically, which had nothing to do with the bank shooting. Now that you’ve explained your point, I will say that Christians do not celebrate the crucifixion. We celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. We commemorate the crucifixion in awe and reverence that Jesus willingly laid down his life to take your sin and my sin upon him. The celebration, however, is in the victory over death by rising from the dead.
