Are we talking about the semantics of saying guns are not part of the problem vs. saying guns are not the only problem? Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
what % of body armor worn by LEO is plated armor? do the standard issue vests stop handguns that do not have special ammo? if rifles are the problem, is there a reason one would need a rifle in an urban setting?
Can you provide an example of anybody in here suggesting that guns are not part of the problem? Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Not a majority, no - most just say it’s the wrong people having guns. However, I do remember a poster (still active) who posted a few years back that some level of dead kids was just the price we pay for the 2A. (or words to that effect).
I would say we have a gun permitting problem. We need to return to the whole well regulated militia constitutional thing and make gun ownership a privelege for those willing to pay for extensive background checks and training like what is required throughout Europe. Easier to get a gun than a driver's license.
I think you guys are providing an example of the "not the only problem" phrasing that I referred to above. I think the nuance is significant if we're going to have an honest discussion of the topic. Perhaps @Swamplizard could clarify. @Swamplizard, do you think guns are in any way shape or from an ingredient in the problems related to the mass shooting incidences that we have in this country? Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
and the sane, responsible ones are unwilling to agree to common sense solutions to stop the idiots from having guns
Why? I know that you understand a holistic approach is needed. (Stricter laws, better mental health care etc) Why not discuss all of it?
Wait did I just get called out by a MOD? you broke one of your own golden rules? Ok well I am good with it but none of my firearms are going to unlock themselves from my safe and shoot anyone or anything. I think people with mental health issues are going to find a way be it a stick or a knife or a firearm
I think he was defending you and giving you a chance to clarify, and mods are absolutely allowed to tag a person.
Tilly I was trying to be funny sorry As far as guns I think they make it easier knives are dirty clubs are dirty rifles and pistols make it easy but no one can fix insane
I think a lot of parents would be relieved beyond words to hear a breaking report of "an active stick wielder" at their child's school than the current alternative.
When I was a child a person kidnapped a child and beheaded him he didn't use a pistol or a rifle. Anyone know who that was?
Sorry, but where exactly in his statement did you see him say "not the only problem"? He said, "No we don't have a gun issue we have an insanity issue..." I understand giving people benefits of doubt, but he very clearly said there is no gun problem without any additional qualifiers.
