Got to think coaches really like him to take his commitment now. I’m thinking so unless we get a plus one type.
Presumably at 6-1 185 they expect him to add significant weight. Maybe he’ll get that junior to senior growth spurt. In any case, his stats are eye-popping.
I'd like to watch an entire game of his. Most of his highlights are on that wildcat off-tackle with lead block kicking out 1st threat ... or ... the WR motion wildcat counter. Is that their bread and butter? If so, the D obviously knows what's coming, yet, he's had crazy stats two years in a row. He reads his blocks extremely well and has some speed. I'm very interested to see how he develops.
Kid is obviously à scoring machine. I know it's a highlight reel, but it seems like he's a threat to take it to the house each time he touches the ball.
I did a little homework. This O is similar to the Double Wing (kick out first threat, pull backside OG, down block on play side and extra bodies at the point of attack) ... I have never seen it at the high school level. I've run the DW for 13 years in feeder ball. It works extremely well when you have a RB that will accelerate into contact, is tough as nails and can read blocks. I looked up their team stats. They only threw 60 passes all year and ran it 383 times Kahnen rushed 189 times for 1930 yards and 21 TDs. (only two fumbles) The rest of the team carried it 194 times for 1470 yards and 20 TDs. The opponent knows he's getting the ball 50% of the time and they still didn't stop him. And there is no threat of a passing attack so he's playing against 8-9 in the box. Keep an eye on ol' Kahnen Daniels.
Might wanna look into recruiting some of their Olineman. KD was over 10 yds a carry and rest of team averaged over 7.5 ypc!
