Another great post, Walton’s been a great coach for a long time and he knows his players and team better than anybody.

They sure did walk a lot of batters today. Rough to watch. It’s interesting, on the men’s site our third starter on the mound has struggled mightily two weeks in a row. Two weeks in a row the game has been decided very early with us walking batter after batter. I’m sure Sully will change something up soon. Kinda the old adage- “if nothing changes, nothing changes”.

All JMO, but I’m speculating CTW was looking ahead to the rest of the season/post season. He knows this team will be limited if EH is the only pitcher that can be relied upon. With the series in the bank, he gives Bender an opportunity to shine, which doesn’t work out, but shows faith in the transfer pitcher which may pay dividends in the future. The fact that it didn’t work out set the stage for Delbrey to come in with reduced pressure and to develop. Again in my opinion it worked out, as I saw a relaxed an efficient LD pitch energetically and with better location/spin. She did tire and begin to falter as the game wore on, but that’s a result of rehabbing and missing Fall. We need LD to get stronger and confident if we hope to progress post season. This was a good opportunity to make progress before we enter the gauntlet of the next couple of weeks.

Some good thoughts, but why not Gigante? She has the upside/potential that Bender lacks. I would have preferred to let her get her feet wet in SEC play if the other theories were correct.

    Another question he can answer:

After yesterdays game, there was a scheduled autograph session for the fans. Kids of all ages lined up to get autographs and I was told that only 6 players were their signing. Where were the other 15?

CTW should have had all 21 players there ready to sigh autographs.
Why were all the players not their coach?

(if the other 15 players showed up after my friends left, please disregard this post)

They didn't. They did not have table space for anymore.

    No table space?

who organizes these things? You’d think they’d know how many tables they would need

The autograph session was very poorly designed and run. Our coach is not the most fan friendly coach that we have. At least Skylar, Kendra and Pal were there. I am sure Gigante did not pitch because basically she gets lit up every time she throws. Until we get a new pitching coach that can develop what we have, expect more of the same. Hitting is the same as it has been for the last 4 years. We hit very good until we face real SEC pitching and all but 4 of the players drop by 100 plus points (except SL) who drops 300 points. We need Sam's bat and Regan's bat in the lineup but until he finally gives up on SL at catcher, SS (he did finally give up on that last year), RF, DP, etc. we will have to wait on Pollard.
