Thought sure they would just drill a Vol between numbers when loaded in 7th down 9, and get on outta there.. or maybe just hoping, to see what transpired lol

Today, pretty much whatever our pitchers intended to accomplish—it went the other way from start ‘til finish.

Brutal. I don’t know if we need to tinker with the lineup anymore than we have been, but there is clearly an issue with Jac on the mound as of late. A few have brought up that he may be wearing down with the pressure of taking the mound on day 3 of three game series, while being the most dangerous hitter in the lineup. Which I tend to agree.

Would moving him to a weekday starter take some of the pressure off? It’s a tough spot. But I don’t think you can take the bat out of his hands.

Back when Puk was the Sunday guy our starters where right, right and left. Back then I thought that right, left, right might give a bit of an edge.

Probably too late to shuffle the weekend starters this year.

I like Slater first but he’s so valuable out of the pen but then I feel like he is underused/underutilized.
I feel like Nesbitt can give us 5/6. Hrs not Uber talented but he throws strikes. I feel like we win both game 3’s the last 2 weeks with Nesbitt or Slater pitching. All this team needs is a chance and both of those guys give us a chance where honestly looks like he may not be able to give us a true chance

Gotta make the change. It’s not like we are early in the year. We’re more than halfway through the season and we need to find a number three starter. We have two of them if not three in Slater, Nesbitt, and Neely, although I would like to keep Neely as our closer. All three would give us a chance to compete because they don’t walk a lot of guys and are not wild.

Glad to see that some others feel the same way… As I said in a post just a few minutes ago the season is halfway over and we can’t be tinkering around with things three weeks from now. We have three potential starters that are all very viable options in the third spot. With Abner pitching the way he is and the talent we have in Slater, Nesbitt, and Neely, we have to make a change.

The last two weeks of game three have been absolute giveaways and that can never happen if you hope to be a top 10 team.

Could be worse, the Angel's double A team threw a no hitter today but lost 7-5

You didn’t mention someone else and to me that is Nesbitt… He hasn’t been great but he has been pretty darn good. If you can get 4 to 5 innings out of him and game three and then turn it over to Slater, Abner and pan look out

yes I know he gave up two long balls today but his ERA coming in was two. 40 and first long ball would have never happened had the second basemen
    made a routine play.

Evans batting .105 in SEC games. I liked the way Prevesk swung the bat in game two. Time for a change.

  15. I'm sure others have posted but in addition to the pitching failures today it felt like we walked a pretty tight line Thursday and Friday. The scores say differently and full credit to our pitching those 2 days for getting out of jams but they were 1 hit away both of those nights from a lot of momentum.

  16. His defense is the only reason why I think Sully hasn't made a change. Evans showed his talent after he got the nod last year and earlier this year, not sure what it's gonna take but just can't keep running him out there.

In my opinion we were playing with house money and I was happy as could be with two wins. But think everyone was disappointed that we didn’t compete in game 3 and seemed to just be going through the motions. Also the fact that Jac continued to struggle on the mound and his role as number 3 starter is now in question, was a bummer to start the game.

Reading Sully's postgame comments in the recap sure sounds like a change will be made for the starting pitcher this Sunday. At least that's what I'm going with in my thinking.

The troubling part is so many of our pitchers have control issues. A team that is disciplined at the plate will find success. Halfway through and still far too many walks and hit batters. That doesn’t bode well if we hope for a championship
