When FSU poached Head Coach Link Jarrett from Notre Dame he was heralded and ballyhooed as their program saviour. They now have a 13 - 24 record (edited) roughly half way through the season. That's about where we want them.
Maybe that stupid post season streak they brag about so much (without a single title) will finally end.
Well, they broke their 10-game losing streak by taking Game 1 vs. Clemson. Then they started a new losing streak of 2. It will be interesting to see how Tuesday goes.
I hope Sully gets his second NC soon. Holes will hang themselves from the trees lining the downtown streets in Tallahassee.
4-14 now in conference play, 13-22 overall RPI 71 They need to finish 15-5 to finish with a winning record (28-27). They're 3.5 games out of the ACC Tournament with 12 games remaining. I know Link is going to be a hero and bring them titles the way that Martin used to, but this is still an intriguing disaster to watch. Today they took a 4-3 lead to the bottom of the 10th, promptly loaded the bases, walked in the tying run, and then gave up the game-winning hit. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Virginia already swept 'em; it's home against the Hokies, @ Notre Dame, home against Wake, and they finish @ Louisville. It's possible that Notre Dame could be the team that disqualifies SWAC from at-large eligibility; that would be funny. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
What is good? "To crush your enemies, to drive them before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women." We have one more opportunity this season to do this.
They lost again tonight (4/19), this time at UNF, after taking a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 10th! They used 10 pitchers with the last one throwing a wild pitch that brought in the winning run from third with 2 outs. But, the strangest thing is that the "pitcher" that threw the WP was none other than.........former Gator, Jordan Carrion!!!!! Now 2 wins in their last 22 games!
They are 13-23 with 19 games left. They can't get to .500 unless one of their games gets canceled. If they go 15-4, they'll finish 1 gave over .500. They're overall at-large eligibility may also depend on their ability to make the ACC Tournament. If they can't make that, they may already be eliminated. It would be funny, but Notre Dame could be the team that eliminates them from at-large eligibility. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
