Idk but I’ve said it before that I really hate that rule. At some point you can call illegal pitches on any pitcher. The lack of consistency with enforcement is infuriating to say the least.
She's a grad student and our 5th arm .....I can't grasp why starting an SEC game is remotely the time to give her a chance
Just speculation here but maybe CTW started HT yesterday vs auburns second team pitchers to secure a win and the series. Beating Penta twice isn’t going to be easy.
It's absolutely not going to be easy, and why runs will be at a prmium....thus gifting AU 4 runs is baffling
Since none of us are part of his staff-we won't know unless he tells us-does he have many press conferences
No coach is going to answer that anyway......we would hear she has looked go in practice/earned a shot/thought she matched up well/etc. Coachspeak 101. He would never throw her under the bus....or the other pitches who have struggled and he may not have been comfortable with either.
I like that about him then, and you made some good points-we as fans should also respect that and not throw players under the bus -even before the game started
I agree no one should be thrown under the bus, but we do have to discuss the strengths, and weaknesses, of players as part of the analysis. Bender is what she is...I'm sure she is here to get her graduate degree and be available in some emergency situations on the field. But I don't believe anyone considers her a front line pitcher, which makes the decision today puzzling. It would kind of be the equivalent of Billy Napier starting a walkon 5th string QB in an SEC game.
