Except behaving as a nominally ethical political party allowed Biden to beat the corrupt Trump by 8M votes. And now youth voters, showing up for the first time, and women hate the GOP largely due to Roe being overturned and are destroying them at the ballot box.

I am convinced that the youth and women voters will show up and have turned the tide, but better to harvest the outrage of Republican lawlessness to get the numbers (a real Blue Wave) that we need to overcome the gerrymandering and voter suppression which will put a the final nail in this version of the Republican party - a cancer in the body politic.

Winning an election to face gridlock is not enough though, we have to have supermajorities to mitigate the damage the Republicans have done in places like Wisconsin, where 22 of 33 state senators are Republicans (that's 66%) when the Republicans only have a 1% margin over the Democrats.

We must fully expose the following to generate the appropriate outrage of voters to destroy the current Republican party:

    1) How Citizen's United led to Russia funding the NRA to the tune of $75 million dollars and then interfering in our elections through social media
    2) which along with our traitorous billionaire class, who finds common cause with Russia, funds the Republicans
    3) who in turn take the dirty NRA money to win elections so they can continue killing our kids due to inaction on common sense gun laws
    4) which the Tennessee House, refusing to debate on, used undemocratic means to silence those exposing Republican culpability
    5) the same billionaires buying our Supreme Court to ensure women cannot control her own body or even save the kids she is forced to carry from an early gun death at school.
    6) and exposing Clarence Thomas's corruption and conflicts of interest in these issues.
    7) and exposing the cabal of Republicans who support Donald Trump's traitorous lawlessness
    8) and every Republican who projects his own crimes on others and is eventually exposed.

After the supermajorities are in place, we must then proceed to faithfully prosecute to the fullest extent every case that can be brought to bear on the aforementioned lawlessness. We must hold the Presidency and Congress to ensure the Supreme Court is re-balanced, Citizen's United overturned, Roe vs. Wade protections restored, Climate Change addressed and Russian oligarchy destroyed so that other lawless nations will never dare interfere in our politics again.

Probably doesn’t matter. Just like you can be president from prison. Nobody saw this level of idiocy/corruption coming.

What good would that do? He’s 74, will never practice law again, and has a lifetime appointment to a job that doesn’t not require a law degree or bar membership.

And let's not forget Ginni Thomas who has a history as a paid lobbyist for right-wing organizations opposing Roe, supported election denial and the January 6th insurrection and lobbied against the ACA.

It's painful but necessary for me to agree with you based on what I have observed of the majority of people living and voting in the western Colorado area where I reside. Though recently re-elected by a shrinking, slim majority of voters even without the felonious assistance of former county clerk Tina Peters, Lauren Boebert is still the district's representative to Congress, out and about with gun on hip marshalling her troops.

The Western Slope of Colorado is filled with people like Boebert, Peters, and my housekeeper. Neighbors, school board members, city and county officials who lean far right encourage violent upheaval that will bring about the destruction of our nation's democratic/republican form of government to form a government bringing the changes they believe necessary.

My housekeeper is an extreme right wing intolerant Christian who is a loyal Trump supporter. She's generous to those she favors, loyal to our extended family and would likely go to extremes to protect each one of us, but her many conspiracy laden views, insistence she is right and all else is wrong, and refusals to listen or even entertain ideas contrary to what she believes are true, indicate a severe and crippling case of Dunning Krueger. I am embarrassed for her at what she does not know.

She thinks no crime was commited on January 6, that it should have succeeded and will "next time." She believes Jesus will return with the inevitable prophesied violence to vanquish 'his' enemies and inaugurate his perfect kingdom on earth. It's okay with her and the many people just like her, for this violent scenario to happen. She / they welome it, encourage it, believe the world will be a better place when gay people and groomers and abortionists are gone and Christians control the schools and universities and the government. Their vision for the future is based on literal biblical beliefs. The Bible says it, they believe it. They are unwilling and or unable to comprehend the future destruction prophesied in biblical texts will be self fulfilling prophecy brought about by their own intractable beliefs, belligerant and intolerant attitudes.

Here's some questions for her so she can think a little deeper about her faith:

    1) Do you support illegal immigration if the immigrants are refugees fleeing persecution, war, famine and potentially death? (My guess is "no")
    2) Biblically do you support Mary and Joseph illegally crossing the Egyptian border fleeing Roman persecution? (Oooh! Didn't think about that...)
    3) If no - then you are saying you wish Herod had killed Jesus and therefore you are not a Christian and are a hypocrite. (Ouch!)
    4) If yes - would you testify in church and in public that the truth is that your savior was an illegal immigrant and refugee fleeing persecution and that the Lord commands us to offer those refugees fleeing persecution, war, and famine to treat them as your neighbor with unconditional love as Leviticus 19:33-34 "You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."
    5) If no, then the Lord doesn't know you either and you are not a Christian.
