Uhh yes they do. When you can’t win in the arena of ideas…some go screaming and crying to their room and shut the door (put people on ignore). Sad. But reality.
Huh? This is a message board. It is suppose to be for engaging with others. Look. If you can’t handle other ideas. Fine. Ignore them. But if you are too afraid to allow others to see yours. This is not a place for you.

Put me on ignore if you are afraid to challenge yourself. But don’t be so weak that you can’t share your thoughts with me. I like to challenge myself. This is a message board. Be a big boy/girl. Everyone should see what we post. I am glad you are not like some of your friends on the left.
While I find your views to be often ridiculous they don’t rise to the level of odious. There’s only 3-4 I have on permanent ignore the rest rotate on and of when the ridiculousness gets to my threshold of tolerance. By the way this is most assuredly NOT a big boy board. If I were able to freely rip in to some of the absurd things I see here I think I wouldn’t ignore any one but DD. I can’t even call someone a snowflake without my post getting deleted. Things normal people would say face to face can’t be said here. in any event your opinion is in the minority. Deal with it.
My opinion is the majority and the data shows it. It was the minority at one point. But reality and the data has proven my opinion correct. When basic science was ignored. I became skeptical. As science is about asking questions. Sadly propaganda reigned.

Do you have any concrete examples where this a has affected the ability to recruit high level talent? I know this has been suggested for quite awhile just curious if there are any links where it can be proven?
That’s because they don’t want to be challenged by the few who would challenge them. They feel safe when they get the thumbs up from their crew and are insulated from questioning by those who don’t follow them lock stock and barrel.
Yes. A number of them. I personally know an academic who passed on an offer from UF to take a job at a much lower-ranked university in a different state. He did it because of our state leadership and the laws/regulations they've been pushing. I have friends who are on hiring committees at UF who have told me how much harder it has been to recruit and hire top academics over the past year to 18 months.
This was only a matter of time. What true academic would want to come to this state and teach? DeSantis has created a very hostile environment for education. It will be so sad to see UF's rankings start to take their tumble.
