(TEN) M and W Tennis v UT

Tough matches for both squads.....Vol women are #15 and at home, Vol men #9 in Gainesville.
Womens match should be pretty close....both teams 7-2 in conf, UF 13-4 and UT 14-4 overall
Men's match tougher IMO, UT is very talented and very experienced. To me they had underachieved early but have gotten it rolling of late. I'm not overly optimistic on this one.

Women getting crushed in doubles so far, 1-3, 1-4, 0-5. Not the hole you want to start in

 

Women blitzed in doubles....1-6 on 2 and 0-6 on 3, were down 2-4 on 1. Horrible start

 

Dahlstrom and Briggs in tight matches, Dudney down a break, Gailis up a break, Emily and Spee getting blown out

 

Men out fast in doubles, up on every court, one game away on 2 and 3. Very impressive start

Women just getting blown out....lose 5 first sets, Gailis took her first set. Dahlstrom and Briggs competitive, Spee and Emily are not and it will be 3-0 soon as their are well down in 2nd sets too

 

Men win 6-1 on 3, serving for the match on 1 and 2 at 5-4 on both

Court 1 broken at love for 5-5
Court 2 holds for the set and the doubles point

Lineup has the same top 3, Greif up to 4, Nate at 5, Orli at 6
Even with the doubles point this will be a tough road

 

UT will easily win on 5 and 6, Gailis is cruising for UF on 4. The top 3 matches are all reasonably tight, but UF lost all 3 first sets and has to win all 3 matches. Not totally dead but on life support

 

3-1 now as those matches finished
Briggs has forced a third set, Dahlstrom is up a break, Dudney is at 3-3.

Braswell down 3-0 to Bicknell...hate that

Dudney seems to be hanging by a thread, but she is usually a tough out. As I type that I see her taking a lead
Unfortunately Dahlstrom has lost 2 straight and her break....now 3-2

Braswell wins a couple to get back in, Nirundorn was up 2-0 and loses 3 straight. Close on every court

Dudney loses to clinch for UT 4-1. Another frustrating step backward. May easily cost them hosting a regional
Sara was broken and at 5-5, Briggs was at 2-2

Nefve playing a great match vs an elite player, up 5-4
Grant takes his first 6-2
Braswell loses 3 for 3-6
Greif up 5-3
Nates dismal season continues 2-6....I thought he would play near the top of the ladder and he is scuffling at 5
Nirundorn 5-4...back and forth on this court too

 

Some good and bad
Bad-Greif has blown a set he had in hand and is now 5-5.
Nate will be done soon, getting rolled
Braswell battling but once again he doesn't have the horsepower

Good-Nefve still hanging with Monday, up 6-5
Grant up a set and 2-2
Nirundorn squeezed out his first set.

Guessing we are going to need Greif's point, as well as Nefve is playing it will be super hard to close his match out

Well, Nate's resurgence was VERY short lived...loses 3 straight and his match
Braswell loses also 2-1 UT
Grant goes in a funk and loses his second set
Greif down a break and a set
Nirundorn and Nefve up a break in second sets...need them and Grant's 3rd set

 

Nirundorn evens it a 2, nice win for the frosh
Grant wheels appear to be off down 0-2, that's a killer
Nefve proving me wrong. match of the season for him, 4-1
Greif back to 2-2...may need himto climb all the way back
