I don’t disagree that dictatorship might be more accurate than fascism, but I am not sure that I know the difference.

I would venture to guess that it also makes him look like a Trump wannabe to many republicans. They see through this, it’s one of the reasons his poll numbers are dropping I would suspect.

and he is threatening to have the district develop property under district ownership that abuts the Disney property. Throw up a bunch of motel 6's, strip malls, used car dealerships, and waffle houses to degrade Disney value seems like another brilliant move. I have to wonder if/when the legislature will ever tell him enough is enough.

But his remarks on Thursday evening outlined that more immediate actions are pending. DeSantis also said that the new district he appointed would explore developing property it owns that is adjacent to Disney property. He also contended that the Florida Legislature was prepared to void the development agreement that had been approved by the outgoing board.

Yeah, it’s like why pay for the cover band when the original band wants to perform?

Going to waste more taxpayer money on losing lawsuits to defend his ego. Fiscal responsibility.

not in the DT or DeS orbit. You are either all in or all out. Dissent is not tolerated and will be dealt with harshly to set an example for others.

He can’t just leave it alone. Hey Ron take the L and go do something to actually benefit Floridians.

Only if Florida's Constitution is amended. If hypothetically DeSantis was term-limited only by statute he could easily persuade his gerrymandered legislature to lift the term limit much the way that he will undoubtedly have the requirement that would otherwise force him to resign the governorship in order to run for the presidency removed.

This is one of the reasons his poll numbers are in the toilet. He got shown up, so to spite them he’s going to spite the entire state and the single most visible representation of florida worldwide, and the source of much of the travel to the state, along with countless jobs?
He just looks like an idiot now.

He seems to be flailing about in the culture wars as Governor of FL where both chambers of the statehouse are controlled by his party. Independents and swing state voters should/will wonder how he would govern as President with a divided Congress. Is he capable of accomplishing anything substantive ?

Sounds like they are making a corporate law or administrative law about the sufficiency of notice for the changes to be effective. I don't have any knowledge in that area. But hard to believe that Disney missed that issue. I would imagine argument that they were entitled to direct notice given the specific circumstances. But that's just speculation
