I just now watched some video of Congdon. The videos were posted in recent weeks so my assumption is that they are fairly recently shot. While I agree he looks like he can play at the high-major level, the 6'-11" height listing looks to me to be greatly exaggerated, unless all these other high schoolers he's competing with are all giants. I'd say he looks more like 6'-8". Hope I'm wrong.

I believe that he was playing with some very tall players. Weren’t those games part of an NBA development program?

Just watched some, too. Don't know about his height, but love his motor and feel. Looks like a high IQ guy. Decent stroke. Good interior passing. Keeps the ball high on rebounds. A lot to like.

I watched the same clips and man if we could land one of the other two Aussies 10 and 18 can handle, shoot and looked 6 8'' 6 9'' and a little more athletic than Condon who looked Athletic!

There is a lot to like with the Beal vis-a-vis Kugel comparison. Both were humble early in their first season and both were awesome late in the season when it mattered.

Bradley didn't have to do it and he did it but Riley did it becuse nobody else could. It is more impressive.

I remember being pretty surprised when BB went pro after one year. It all worked out for everyone!

What's crazy is that when I think of famous Gator basketball players, I sometimes forget about Beal for a moment. His time in Gainesville was so short. I don't blame him, though. If you are that high of a prospect, you have to go pro.

You don't have to. Not immediately, anyway. Noah, Horfy, and Brewer were sure-fire 1st-rounders but deferred it for a year.

Well, that's kind of different. They had the chance to make history. I don't think Beal had the same opportunity immediately clear in front of him.

Have we had any other one and done players who excelled in the league? I remember Donnell Harvey bolting after one year, but he had no NBA career.

Harvey was and is a mystery to me. The guy had length and tremendous athleticism. Me-first attitude and poor shooting skills ruined his NBA chances, I guess.

No doubt. He seemed to be the poster child for "don't leave early," but I understand that his family may have been in need and he saw a golden egg. Just didn't happen. When I think of athletic freaks in Gator hoops, though, it's hard to imagine anyone more freakish.

totally true. If Harvey played today, he would have been the perfect candidate for the G League, to develop his offensive game.

Jason Williams wasn't necessarily one and done, but he only played 20 games as a Gator before excelling in the league. Still one of my all time favorite players to watch.

We have had more than a few one year players over the past decade that sure thought they could be one and done by dipping their toe in that declaration water. Guess the water was cold.
