It is a curious fact that “justice” so often coincides with the actions of one’s favored party and so rarely with the actions of the opposing faction. We will see if you still feel this measure just when it’s performed by the democrats, as it’s now virtually guaranteed that they will try this at some point.

As FA Hayek observed: “Only by refraining from using measures, which they would not want used on themselves, can the members of a majority forestall the adoption of such measures when they are in a minority.”

It's impressive how they managed to make expelling two of the three look worse than expelling all three. Really trying to embrace those Ku Klux Klan roots.

You and Ron DeSantis have the same definition of "inciting a riot" . . . a peaceful protest that you don't like.

Censure for what? For participating in a protest?

They really are wearing their racism as a badge of honor without fear, without emotion, and apparently without the use of any brain cells. Tennessee will no doubt remain a secure bastion for the racist, homophobic, knuckle dragging, mouth breathers, but this action will no doubt have far-reaching affects beyond the Tennessee borders.

They admitted they broke the House rules. Worthy of censure but not expulsion.

Let's see: Bullhorns and chants vs. smashing windows, assaulting police officers, carrying zip ties for handcuffing people, threatening to hang Pence and commit violence to Pelosi.

    Yes, the similarity is uncanny.

How can anyone take a claim like that seriously?

'Losing democracy to white supremacy': Black Tennessee Democrats expelled over anti-gun protest

Ms Johnson, when asked why she survived the vote, while two of her colleagues were expelled from the Tennessee House, said: “Well, I think it’s pretty clear. I’m a 60-year-old white woman and they are two young black men.”

Banishment is a move the chamber has used only a handful of times since the Civil War. Most state legislatures have the power to expel members, but it is generally reserved as a punishment for politicians accused of serious misconduct, not used as a weapon against political opponents.

After the vote, Mr Pearson said: “It is no coincidence that the two youngest Black lawmakers in the state of Tennessee, and one of two women, are on trial today… This is what happens when you lose democracy.

Utter nonsense and an abuse of power. Would a disciplinary process have been a proper course? Sure. Censure, yes. Ethics investigation, yes. But, to expel two members? Abuse of power.

Yep, it was just like January 6th with just a few minor insignificant things that did not take place:
    • Overrunning police barricades
    • Breaching the doors
    • Forced the evacuation of the Vice President, Senators, and Representatives
    • Forced the suspension of the certification of the US Presidential election
    • Illegally occupying the Senate chamber
    • Damaging and vandalizing the Capitol building
    • Assaulting security forces with weapons
    • Erecting a gallows on the Capitol grounds
    • Calling for the hanging of an elected official
    • Ransacking Congressional offices
    • Stealing government documents and equipment
    • Defecating and urinating in the Capitol
    • Replacing the USA flag with non USA flags (Confederate and Trump)
But yeah, other than that it was very similar. o_O

If they were going to tar this as an 'insurrection,' they should have at least punched a racist or something

Question. How many players will cite this as the reason they enter the portal? It may be that the best way to punish those in office is to make those who vote for them so angry due to transfers of star players from the only team that matters to them. Wishful thinking at best I guess.

I thought about this as well. I wonder if there will be an impact to Tennessee collegiate and professional sports.

How would this make you feel and respond if you were a player on that team right now?
I'm a white Irish dude and I would be looking for the exit after this chit. I can only guess how black athletes/students/others want to protest this. It could be one that starts an avalanche. I know that the coach is working triple overtime on soothing some hurt players about now.

When/if it happens, plenty of ignorant MAGA college football fans will criticize them for "quitting out of wokeness"
