Tennessee is a shit show. Tik Tok has lots of high schoolers at the capital yelling at elected officials to do something about their safety and all officials are doing is running into chambers like cowards and complaining.

Those students are not considered constituents, the people who line the politicians' pockets are.

If expelled, 2 will likely be appointed right back in as they’re from democratic leaning counties.

I have a solution. Provide the speaker with a can of mace or pepper spray and pass legislation that anyone who approaches or talks out of line gets it in the face.

Hyper partisanship from the left will embolden the right to react. My only hope is they kill each other off and the center can re-establish itself.

They could always get a 7-2 supreme court where Gorsuch becomes the median vote

While I too long for that day that will never come, this has nothing to do with the left. This is a state that is insulated from reality because of the control the right has there, and they are acting like it. It’s beyond embarrassing. Banana republic garbage. Censure them, demand an apology to the body under threat of this, suspend them from committees, there were 100 steps before this one. It’s almost like I don’t even live in the US anymore.

The GOP is turning into an absolute anti-American party. If I was a conspiracy nut I swear I'd think this is all done to keep lawyers in business.

There are consequences to the attacks for over 20 years. I hear it all the time. They attacked Bush, Romney, Trump etc and although most of them deserved criticism, they mostly took it on the chin. Not anymore, it feels like a barrier has been broken. It's going to take a special leader to clean up this mess or WW3 to break out to get it worked out.

I feel like most of the politicians regardless of party are there for themselves. Dems had there chance to pass gun and abortion laws, and they didn't even try. They are spineless, as are the pubs when they are in power. All they give a shit about is feeding there crony companies that line there pockets. That's all.

Abortion was legal when they were in power until the GOP rule changed themselves into a court majority. The democrats have minimally passed the ACA and the most comprehensive infrastructure bill in a century. The GOP has done exactly nothing. It's not a both sides thing. It really isnt.

The bulk of this hyper partisanship can be laid at the feet of Newt Gingrich

Newt hasn't been in office in over 20 years. Nancy Pelosi is far worse than Newt.

Bullshit. The hyper partisan foolishness most certainly did start with Gingrich and it has gotten progressively worse.

Abortion was not mentioned by statute. Roe vs Wade was a judgement and should have been drafted into law when they had the chance. Instead they left it open so they could dangle it over the population so they could say "Hey, don't vote for us and the pubs will get rid of it". They are idiots if they thought that they could dangle that forever without consequences.

Sure, who cares where it started? I don't really give a shit what happened in the 90s. That was 30 years ago. What has the Dems done to counter it? They one upped the game and are just as responsible for the mess.

Tennessee just trying to out do Fla/desantis by removing elected officials.

Bad look for Tenn, but they don't care. I could see a censure but removal of 2 young black men and a white woman just plays into an old stereotype.
At least 2 of the reps will get reelected in their special election,. Just another waste of time and money.
