Once again much will be told about our future possibilities after this weekend. But it still goes down to winning the one game in front of you. Its really that simple. Last thing we need is to go into Knoxville and get swept and end up tied with UT. Winning just one game means we come home no worse than 8-4 and the Vols would be no better than 6-6. Sure there's plenty of other teams to deal with but 8-4 in this conference is really good. If we win one then we can start to try and win two out of three, if we don't get rained out.
Both teams have struggled with their starting pitchers in conference. The Gators ERA in conference is 5.44 and Tennessee team ERA is 4.88. But if you look further the Vols have given up 58 runs total to the Gators 55. Maybe our pitching won't be too far different than them.
Georgia athletic director has lost his marbles playing a noon game on Easter Sunday final round of the Masters. Unless maybe he is hoping no one watches.
If there's one thing that speaks about the reason this team is better than last year, it's timely hitting, especially with two outs. Here's a little something to back that up from the Game Notes.... CARDIAC GATORS More than half of Florida's wins this season (25) have been in comeback fashion (13), matching last year's 66-game total of 13 come-from-behind victories. After going 0-20 last season when trailing after six innings, Florida is 2-3 in that scenario already in 2023. Even more impressively, the Gators are 11-2 when the opponent scores first this season, compared to 11-15 last year.
Nothing wrong with it - just that it is a picture of Prevesk who is normally a non-starter but, as of late, has been getting an occasional look in RF - wondering if it may signal that he is starting tonight or just a coincidence that they chose his picture.
Just trying to derail the thread with more Masters stuff. Whenever I think about the Masters I think about Fruitland Nurseries. The land that Augusta National Golf Course was built on was once one of the finest nursuries in the Southeast. Many camellia and azalia variaties were deveolped there. Bacause it is so late in the spring the golf course is only known for the azalias. I have no idea if they also have camellias on the course.
