He actually was a "judge" on the Wisconsin Supreme Court for four years until he lost reelection. You can thank Scott Walker for that.
Electorally yeah, but the state also passed medical weed (and may get recreational on the ballot), prisoner rights restoration, a $15 minimum wage, etc. If an abortion rights thing gets on the ballot, it has a chance. I dont think the voters are as right wing as the state GOP would like to believe (which is why they are determined to continue to kneecap the ballot initiative process and democracy in general in FL).
Ironically, Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were among the best friends of Republicans in Florida. When Bernie and AOC use the term "socialist" what they have in mind is essentially the welfare state capitalism of the Scandinavian countries. When Cubans and Venezuelans in South Florida hear the word socialism what comes to mind are Cuba under Fidel Castro, Venezuela under Hugo Chavez and Nicaragua under Daniel Ortega and Republicans have been very successful at reinforcing that perception.
The GOP is going to ride their revisionist policies right into the political graveyard. Gen Z keeps coming out in droves to smack them around at the polls.
Not to mention block most abortion restrictions favored by the republicans. Being on the wrong side of abortion is going to cost the republicans all over ballots.

In short he’s saying republicans can’t win unless they can suppress the will of the voters by voter restrictions and gerrymandering. Here’s a few ideas for republicans that just might help them win. Come up with some policies that help Americans, quit pushing policies that are wildly unpopular, and give up on this MAGAnistic fantasy of replacing democracy with an authoritarian government.
So, these people in NW Florida would rather our country turn into a Left Wing's "utopian" cesspool than "forgive" Trump for insulting McCain? That doesn't even sound like a fair exchange.
Not sure how you got that. I'm saying Republicans I know well don't like Trump and aren't MAGA fans. I'm also conceding that they are probably not representative of Republican voters in my area.
A dawning awareness among MAGA types who can walk erect. Oh shit what have we wrought? 'The Left Has Really Woken Up': Fox News's Dana Perino Reacts to 'Staggering' Election Turnout in Wisconsin
They played a clip from that “concession” speech on local news. How embarrassing. And a Supreme Court candidate? This result was a big phew!
too bad we can't have elections or at least no confidence votes to remove supreme court justices. maybe every 10 years. the current system has proven itself to be broken both in the nomination process and in the enforcement of any sort of ethics. Wisconsin Supreme Court flips liberal, creating a ‘seismic shift’ (msn.com) MADISON, Wis. — Standing in the marble-lined rotunda of the state capitol this month, the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s incoming justice raised her right hand, swore to carry out her job “faithfully and impartially” and launched a new, liberal era on a powerful court long dominated by conservatives. The fallout was immediate. Within days, the new majority stripped duties from the court’s conservative chief justice and fired its administrative director, a conservative former judge who once ran for the court. The abrupt changes prompted the chief justice to accuse her liberal colleagues of engaging in “nothing short of a coup.” Before long, Republican lawmakers threatened to impeach the court’s newest member. Liberal groups, long accustomed to seeing the court as hostile terrain, quickly maneuvered for potential victories on a string of major issues. They filed lawsuits to try to redraw the state’s legislative districts, which heavily favor Republicans. And the Democratic attorney general sought to speed up a case challenging a 19th-century law that has kept doctors from providing abortions in Wisconsin. “It’s an absolute seismic shift in Wisconsin policy and politics,” said C.J. Szafir, the chief executive of the conservative, Wisconsin-based Institute for Reforming Government. “We’re about to usher in a very progressive state Supreme Court, the likes that we have not seen in quite some time. And it’s really going to change how everything operates.”
I'm overjoyed, but I would caution the new majority to proceed cautiously. They represent all the citizens, not just liberals.
