I have zero legal background so I can't really form an opinion on this. I hope this was helpful.

You don’t have to be a Trump fan to be a Trump apologist.

    Nice deflection from the question.

No it was an honest question.
Not that I think Trump gets a fair trail in Manhattan, the DA gets to now try and prove Trump conspired to defraud and use campaign funds to make these a felonies right?

Also, I think most people having an issue with this is how many criminals with records continue to be caught and released in NY by the same DA.

So why do you think Cohen was guilty of the same crime but not Trump?

Is it not the point they have to prove Trump directed Cohen to do any of it?

DA job here is to show evidence of that right?

Is there any doubt? You think Cohen just took it on himself and Trump reimbursed him via a fake retainer and had no idea what he was paying for?

My concern would be the DA doesn’t have any election interference charges to leverage his case with and the implied interference is a couple of hush money payments to women to keep their sexual escapades under wraps. This feels a lot like a Monica Lewinsky situation, without the subordinate dynamic Lewisnky had with Clinton. To think we are good to hand down the first conviction of a U.S. president over a couple of hoes is the pinnacle of stupidity.

Listening to all the legal experts on both sides, it sounds like there's a good chance all of this could be dismissed.
John Bolton, who hates Trump made some good arguments on how pathetically weak these charges are.
It sounds like the only people buying into this is the far left.

There seem to be a lot of those far left in these threads. They lose their minds when you suggest these charges are weak. Once they wake from their morning slumbers you will be quote replied into oblivion. Good luck.

You dont think Cohen was directed by Trump? Sure the DA has to prove it but that seems like the slam dunk.

Once this NY circus is done, they'll just move on to the next one in line...person in search of a crime.

The person making the accusation and bringing the charge doesn’t say what crime has been committed. What criminal statute has been violated? Even the leftist media are apoplectic at the weakness of the indictment.

You might be surprised by how many companies empower their Legal teams to assess any litigation (even the frivolous ones) and determine whether to fight back or just make it go away. Unless it rises to a certain dollar threshold, the execs may not need to be involved in the decision - let alone even made aware.

I grant you that there are other circumstances at play here, but my experience has shown these types of "business decisions" to be fairly commonplace. Moreover, how viable would Cohen's testimony be when he's already lied to Congress?
