I would bet the moon that MTG could not pick Nelson Mandela out of a photo pack or point to what country he lived in on an unlabeled map.

All 34 counts were felonies apparently. Falsifying business records and conspiracy.

Let’s nail him to a cross until he croaks, and if he comes back to life this Sunday then I guess we should let him go.

Doesn’t the clock stop when he is president and restart when he leaves office?

Trump, Jr. just posted a photo of the judge's daughter on "Truth" Social.

No, but it should, especially for federal offenses. It was tolled for 6+ months during Covid and when Trump was continuously outside of the state of New York.

Yeah, I think they're claiming that the Judge has a conflict of interest because his daughter campaigned for or worked for Kamala. Not a conflict based upon any considerations I've ever heard of. That coupled with the other attacks on the Judge are not surprising. I hope the daughter has security.

Since you bring up Jr., it could be nothing but interesting that while Don Jr. and Eric have predictably circled the wagons, Ivanka has been relatively quiet absent a short, non-remarkable, statement that she issued.

    From the NYT:
"On its own, falsifying business records is a misdemeanor in New York State — but it can be charged as a felony, .. if it is done to conceal another crime, such as a federal or state campaign finance violation.

"Proving that element will most likely hinge on whether the hush money is interpreted to have been paid in the service of Mr. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign or for personal reasons, such as shielding his wife, Melania, and youngest son, Barron, from Ms. Daniels’s story."

That is what this case is about in a nutshell. If what the indictment alleges is true, then it is a serious crime which must be prosecuted no matter the defendant. It is certainly not a democratic "witch hunt".

One would hope and expect the prosecution to have proof that the payments were not to shield Melanie and Barron. Otherwise, it will result in a monumentally embarrassing verdict of not guilty.

Read that if DT has to go to jail for any of the pending cases that the secret service would be required to go to jail with him to protect him. Wow, what a cluster

Trump's Secret Service agents would accompany him if he went to jail, says retired US judge (msn.com)

Secret Service agents would accompany former President Donald Trump if he goes to jail, a retired US judge told Sky News.

Joseph Cosgrove, formerly of the Court of Common Pleas of the 11th Judicial District in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, told Sky News on Tuesday that the agents would follow him to jail for his protection.

"No matter where he goes, he will have secret service protection, which creates just this bizarre image," Cosgrove said.

"Let's assume the worst for Mr Trump: if he were sentenced to some sort of confinement, he would be confined with his secret service agents," he added.

A friend of mine was telling me last week her inlaws were getting a divorce because the husband sent the entirety of their life savings to Trump over the last 6 years without the wife knowing....

It looks like it is all falsified business records counts, no conspiracy count as I anticipated.

The DA released a Statement Of Facts. There was another "catch and kill" payment that wasn't leaked...$30,000 to a doorman at Trump Towers to kill a story about Trump fathering a child born out of wedlock.
