https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/03/tru...raignment-warn-of-circus-like-atmosphere.html Trump’s lawyers don’t want cameras at the arrraignment.
They don't want him to have to submit to "mugshots," either. They are afraid they'll be leaked to the press.
Oh yeah if ne gets the nom he’ll lose by 15M votes and thankfully there are enough batshit crazy state legislatures to do anything about it. Hope the rubes keep sending him money.
Anyone notice the irony of Trump's attorneys using the phrase "circus-like atmosphere"? Since he entered politics Donald Trump has been a clown who reduced the presidency and the Republican Party to circuses.
Probably not a bad idea. Since the indictment was announced Trump raised 7 million dollars much of it apparently from the sale of merchandise. Gotta give Trump credit. After monetizing the presidency he managed to monetize an election loss and is now monetizing a criminal indictment.
Well, just as Hillary lost by a few thousand votes, Trump was not that far away either. Modest swings in just a handful of states is all that is needed. I too suspect he’ll lose, but I’m not slam-dunk about it. Chris Sununu, who many consider to be a sane R, just told Maher he’d vote for Trump as the R nominee. All the law&order stuff is secondary to capital letters.
It's the independents and centrist leaning Ds and Rs that generally decide POTUS elections. The numbers show the Is against Trump at nearly a 2:1 level, and plenty of centrist leaning Rs that are done with Trump. We also have not only the 2020 election, but 2022 election results in blue states like GA, PA, and AZ that Trump would need to win that all have gone blue with either Trump, or a Trump backed candidate. I honestly don't think the indictment will swing any I's to the right, or cause too many central leaning Ds to Trump's side. I'd imagine once the charges are released, the Trumpsters will double down, but even more in the middle who are unsure will abandon Trump completely.
We know that if he is the nominee and he does lose the general election, true to form he will claim it was rigged.
Interesting that Jordan wants to go after the FBI and DOJ when as far as I know (1) the bulk of the investigations against Trump were during his time in office and conducted by people he put in there; (2) Mueller gave Trump a beautiful exoneration and essentially stated that they weren't going to touch him regardless of the evidence; and (3) Alvin Bragg doesn't work for either Federal agency. Perhaps this is about the classified records investigation though.
Anything to defend the orange god, to hell with the rule of law, to hell with the national interest, and to hell with the constitution. smdh.
By the way, on the subject of a gag order. Trump is planning on having a presser tomorrow night. He could be in trouble before the first day is out. My guess is that the judge gives him a verbal warning tomorrow before gagging him formally. So strike one comes tomorrow night likely.
Fox News, Politico and others reporting that Trump has just hired another lawyer. Apparently, the lawyer represented Paul Manafort and Igor Fruman and has resigned from one of the most prestigious law firms in the City (and maybe even the country) so he can be one of the lawyers representing Trump. I'm sure he's financially very secure but wonder what kind of retainer he negotiated. Trump taps white-collar attorney to helm indictment defense
Did he have to resign in order to represent trump? Will representing trump be too much of a circus? Found this in the article: In his resignation email, Blanche said he was unable to take Trump as a client while remaining at Cadwalader, New York City’s oldest law firm and one of its most elite. “Obviously, doing this as a partner at Cadwalader was not an option, so I have had to make the difficult choice to leave the firm.”
It's being called an indictment but I prefer to call it another Trump fundraiser. I missed it, since for some reason I don't watch Fox"News," but I saw the reports that Lindsay Graham, the Pride of South Carolina, was on Hannity's show groveling, almost crying, begging viewers to send money to Trump. The poor guy needs it incessantly. Meaning money and pathetic sycophants like Graham.
