However, shows you what you need to do if you want to win championships. You pay top dollar for the best coaches in P5. Ones that have won before and have credibility with transfers and HS kids. The UF AD approach of hiring up and comers from lower divisions does not work well. LSU never win a championship in ladies basketball and now they have. Congrats to them. Now they must wear winning gracefully/well.
I agree. Rubbing it in her face not a good look for Reese. But I doubt if she cares. She will learn some respect in the pros.
Does that apply to Caitlin Clark as well? After all, she waved her hand in another player's face earlier in the tournament? What makes Reese's gesture classless if its the exact same gesture?
No doubt Reese took it to another level of ridiculousness chasing her around. Clark is nasty, yea, she takes some ill advised threes, but she stretches the court like no other player, and her bigs couldn't make a layup. Her court vision is as good as it gets, she makes incredible passes. She has mad game and backs it up. That team without her would be lucky to win 5 games.
I dont know, to me that sounds like either they both are classless or they both aren't. Trying to go through mental gymnastics to distinguish the two just seems disingenuous. But maybe that's just me. Did you see Clark taunting the SC freshman guard the entire game? I think people see what they want to see.
I actually have no issue with her at all. She's a baller and by far the best player in the tournament. She's a gamechanger on her own and as someone mentioned she deserves all the accolades she received. BUT, I like fairness. And it seems people are not being fair to the other players for whatever reason. That's BS. Even she didn't have issues with Reese's Cena moment. Why? Because she's a competitor and all the greats did it, and had it done to them.
Talking trash during a game is one thing. The meme you selected shows absolutely no context but it's interesting you went to the trouble to find and post it. It even appears Clark could have been complaining about something walking toward her bench. However, another poster said the LSU player was chasing Clark around the court after the game . . . which is definitely rubbing it in, not classy and has little to do with fairness.
That's BS. I thought she was incredible but that's not the issue. She did the same thing being complained of. Fair is Fair. Right is Right.
The context is pretty clear but hey, you do you. There are countless articles online that speak to that specific image, but hey, by all means, pretend she was doing the John Cena gesture to a teammate. That makes perfect sense The fact that I showed the image is just to show evidence, has nothing to do with whether I like her or not. Not all of us think along those lines. Should I say the same about the posters who went out of their way to call Reese 'classless' on a thread about Caitlin Clarke's heroics also evidence of whether they like her or not? And yes, as the poster mentioned, Reese did show the gesture, the duration of the gesture doesn't imply one is classless and the other is just competitive. The intent remains the same. Like I said, people will see what they want to see. We know what you see.
It's never okay to taunt another player after the game is over. That's why you seldom see it. I actually can't recall another time when a winning player in basketball was taunting a losing player after a game. So, yeah, if Clark was taunting a specific player after the game was over, shame on her! I don't like it personally, but taunting a specific player during the game is more accepted - although it might get you a technical if it's too obviously directed at another player. No problem with Reese waving her hand (whatever that's supposed to mean) or pointing to her ring finger toward the crowd/fans.
She’s an absolute baller. Spurrier always said something to the effect of if they are mad or not liking you your probably winning. It’s when they stop talking about you when you worry. She’s an awesome player.
It all depends on context of the situation. Clark obviously did the hand/face gesture and that looks to be during a game. Who knows what prompted it, but most likley some jamwing going on. It's about on par with CC lowering his hand towards the floor for his "too short" gesture. Reese did it to Clark during the game during a FT, then after the game. As Reese noted, she's "too ghetto".
Reese chased Clark around the court taunting her...that's the BIG difference. She's clearly no Angel.
