Man we looked dead in the water half way through this game. It looked like a repeat of Friday. Great comeback Gators!
Helluva a comeback. Slater has to be in the mix as a closer along with Neely. We can hit, no doubt, but our SP remains a question mark and Sully may have to make some adjustments at some point soon. I would not change the current rotation going into Knoxville but perhaps Neely should be back in the mix as a weekend starter. Lots of pluses with the bat including Halter, Langford getting his timing back and Heyman looking good. Kurland needs to swap spots in the batting order with Robertson or perhaps consider Halter back to lead off spot.
You are correct 77– Changes need to be addressed but with the Thursday series start this week would be the wrong time-Waldrep had his season high with pitch count and this week would move him up two days so you’re spot on. I will leave tinkering with the lineup to who’s got the hot hand and Sully—that way it’ll be less confusing…..
best offense has looked all year, but frst time all healthy so hopefully this is what they are. but wont matter how well they hit w/ this pitching, & lost another today probably..obliques take forever. hind sight probably shouldnt of used Bauman Fri night up 8, but was taking no chances I guess. Thats way it will be rest of year, when to use now 3-4 arms they have any confience in. Run out best available w/ a lead and go from there I guess. lol Next 3 weeks will determine season aTm, @Bama, MSU,, winning record in those 9(the 'soft' part) , still kicking. Gonzalez should be back after that, if at all,, I could see him just sitting out rest of year , get drafted 1st- 2ndrnd and thats that. Depends on whos in his ear. Especially if team out of post season race by then.
lol na, im pretty non reactionary during or after. and not like something i dont see every Sunday/gm 3 this year. giving up avg of 11 in those. was watching softball & Os at same time to distract me.. Os pitching worse than AU I think. similar reasons,,but 160 to go there..lol We get to do this again in softball next weekend,yippie,,(thurs-sat) AU won 1-0 today on 1 hit, & the hit had nothing to do w/ run. runs will be at a premium . unlike baseball.
Back from the game. Langford had a HUGE game: 3 walks, 2 doubles and a homer in six times to the plate. That will fluff up OBP and slugging percentage. Slater was filthy. Lots of armside and sink on his two seamer to go with command of his off speed pitches. Robertson sure gets on base a lot without hitting the ball. He will even take one to the helmet to get on. An Auburn reliever throwing 100 mph and not getting anybody out. Now a question. An Auburn player was clearly hit by a pitch and wasn't awarded first. It went to review in Birmingham and the ruling on the field stood. When watching the play it seemed like the Auburn batter might have turned into the pitch and that would explain it, but I have now idea if that was the call. Anybody know? Or I could go all conspiracy theory saying that the guys in Birmingham are all Bama fans and were out to screw the Barners.
Because it is baseball. The game has so much randomness in it that they have to play a 162 game schedule in the majors to figure out who the best teams are. And then we have the baseball post season where anything can happen.
Was it the “hit by pitch” high on the left shoulder of a RHH? If so, there was no shown camera angle to clarify beyond a reasonable doubt. The camera angle shown was like you were outside of the left hander’s batter box looking straight at the RHH. No front or angle front……
I gotta be honest, I really like how pesky and persistent they are… I thought Nesbitt was our best pitcher all weekend before Slater today ( contextually speaking w game situation Nesbitt still best) and Nesbitt was the best I’ve seen him and yet they fouled off pitch after pitch after pitch… They do a great job getting to their pitch or getting too fast ball not located well… With that upcoming schedule I expect six and three or five and four at worst…
