Just an in between innings FYI from the softball side of Diamond Gators. We got 1 hit today and lost to South Carolina 3-0. The Gamecocks are the only SEC team to not make the NCAA tournament last year. They had beaten Florida a total of 2 games in the last 20 years until this weekend. And now they've beaten us twice in 3 days. Our softball team is in trouble, with upcoming series against Auburn, Georgia & Tennessee.
Not sure what it is either. I understand that our pitching isn't dominant, but our offense should be pretty good.
Our offense tears up average pitching, but we only have a couple of ladies who are consistently competitive against quality pitchers. Our record against ranked teams is not very good, especially compared to prior Gator teams.
Gotta find your fighters/battlers on the mound and at the plate. The old Sully from 15 through 18 would shake the rotation up next weekend or at least give them a scathing peptalk in the locker room… And when I say scathing I’m talking at a nine or 10 level. I believe it was Tennessee the swept us at home sometime in that timeframe Ed he absolutely got after them and it changed things. go Wyatt!!!!!!
