Is it not time to make my PAL the starting RF? She hits, fields, runs and when she makes an out it is usually a productive out (besides she never has a bad day, smiling and encouraging all the time) she at least hits behind the runner or get the Sac. Great job by E today. Best she has looked in awhile. Also, please tell me why CTW insist on playing Sarah over her when she is second only to Gigante (Gigabyte) in percentage of SO's per a bat. And while I am at it Gigabyte is now 3 for her last 21, why is she PH for Avery who has one of the lowest SO percentages. I guess his analytics say Oliva has a better chance a a HR but her risk reward is fairly low in my estimation. And a continued Giant Shout Out to Skylar - soon to be our all time best hitter for average and SB leader. What a transfer portal pick up that was. No Skylar - we have a losing record.
I like Swaggy P, she’s been much more disciplined at the plate recently also. I’m surprised haven’t seen Pollard at all since the lineup shakeup, seems to have fallen off the ends of the earth. Don’t think she’s played since Ark series.
I’ll talk some smack about Longley this afternoon, see if I can get another homer out of her! She did well yesterday, abs could’ve been better but at least got a couple rbi. Nice throw out at second also.
Totally agree. This girl is a highly rated recruit with tons of upside potential. She should be playing more.
Her roundabout manner of getting to Gainesville reminds me a bit of Stephanie Toft who I absolutely adored. I guess I like a good story lol. Edit: oops, you’re talking about Pollard and I was talking about Egan, anyhow I still agree!
During the television commercial before the start of the sixth inning, CTW brought out a ball and showed it to the home plate umpire. They had a discussion, after which the home plate umpire took the ball and conferred with the other two umpires. That lasted a couple of minutes before the umpire took the ball over to the South Carolina coach and showed it to her. After she looked at it, the umpire took it to the umpire entrance area and gave it to someone. Originally, I was thinking that CTW was explaining to the home plate umpire that this yellow round object has to be over the plate before you call a strike, but that probably wasn't it. I gotta think that it was an unapproved ball for the game. Since the home team is responsible for suppling the balls, I wonder what remedy/sanction there is, if any.
I was wondering what that whole thing was about, could explain how a below average pitcher looked like Monica Abbott. Thanks for the insight.
Pardon my ignorance, but is there a ball that favors pitchers in some regard that may not be approved...or maybe this is a "doctoring" situation?
NCAA not really known for coming out and admitting mistakes or misconduct that might or might not have happened under their ever watchful eye of Sauron.
Kelsey Bruder and I and the rest of Gator softball nation are still waiting for an apology for Chris Drumms egregious behavior behind the plate in the 2011 WCWS.
One of these days TW is going to hang up his spikes. With his next two great recruiting classes coming in it will probably be a few years. If he decided to retire who would be your choice to replace him. My vote would be Courtney Deifel from Arkansas. She resurrected a bad program to one of prominence in the SEC as well as nationally.
Completely agree but doubt it would happen. Who knows for sure but she has built an excellent program from virtually nothing and is rock solid at Arky with a new and lucrative contract. She could very well feel like there is no reason to leave a program that she built and where she is established as the complete face of the program. Anyway, we're talking about years down the road and considering anything now is pure speculation without much of a foundation.
