To add to what I said above, I just checked. Twenty-five states have NIL laws. Only Colorado passed one before the Gators. This is a great example that sometimes being proactive is just shooting yourself in the foot. I would just deep-six Florida's NIL law altogether and follow whatever the NCAA rules say. 'Cause you have to follow those as well (unless you're Bama, UT, Auburn, etc.).
Ah, I just looked it up and you are correct. HB7B appears to have been signed into law on February 17th of this year.
I am concerned that it will take a major run i.e. a serious run at the regular season conference title or a third round appearance in the NCAA tournament to fire up the fan base about this program. Then you will have alum writing checks to the collective and or businesses seeking major endorsement from our players. Until then most long term alum look at this program like the chemistry set that third grader gets for her birthday to play with. Lots of combinations, mixes, and colors, but in the end the concoction gets poured down the drain. Seeing 8 people leave your program year after year after year is a sign of a concoction.
Okay thanks for that. My next question, in general is, what is FSU doing with regard to NIL? They must also be having some difficulty navigating the NIL landscape. (please someone say yes) lol
Interesting - or not - that he went closer to home to play in Georgia but not Mike White in Georgia. Obviously some familiarity there.
