The goal of the GOP is to beat Trump in any way possible. They will use DeSantis as a pawn. Insider republican political pundit Mark Simone admits that Team Bush and Karl Rove are the specific organizers of the DeSantis 2024 effort. The goal is to keep Trump from winning. The GOP doesn't understand just how much many America First republicans hate the McConnells, Murdoch's, the Bush family and the Rove's. Their stench is all over DeSantis now.

They aren't hammering on DeSantis just because they hate him, they also realize DeSantis could win the general election. They already know what they have in trump and he can't win. Most people in the middle or leaning right won't vote for him(I'm one). So need to cut bait.
