Yes, but over her career has she really earned the position of an everyday starter?

 

Avery Goelz is hitting .351 and is a solid first baseman. Sure, she's not a home run threat, but she got 27 hits and 20 RBI in 77 at bats, a .455 slugging percentage and .405 OBP and only 7 K's. She struggled with her hitting until the end of last year, when she started producing at the plate and it's carried over into this year. Now she gets benched. Wonder what that will do to her confidence going forward, especially being replaced by a .281 hitter with 14 K's in 57 at bats?

 

Truthfully..I hadn't followed softball as closely as many of you do, so I have to defer to those of you that have followed the team more..I just try to support all Gator sports as do many of you..

 

It doesn't matter if their average is better --- that is mid major play and let's remember we lost to mid majors we would have killed a handful of years back. And... Goelz, Pollard and Egan have the better glove.
