That also mentions Bradley's Rienk Mast as a Gator target. 6'-9", 240 pounds. 13.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.

My wife got into Purdue, Georgia Tech, and Columbia for engineering and was rejected by Florida. Not sure who is in charge at admissions, but they’re a mess.

Not sure a visit is scheduled, but the staff supposedly likes him. Probably not much of a five, but a big four who can score in the paint or from the perimeter, rebound, and pass.

UF has a highly rated College of Engineering and a lot of top students applying to get in. Just because Purdue might have openings, it doesn't mean that UF does.

I’m so old that when I applied to UF, the only requirement was can you afford it! I could and had a great time; almost too good. My first quarter, I made 2 A’s. 2 B’s, and a C. My second quarter - not so good. I had to race home to intercept the scholarship warning out of my folk’s mailbox (successfully by the way) They never knew and my grades were much better for the balance of my college courses.

I couldn't get into Florida now. My daughter who had excellent grades and student involvement was put on the waiting list.

Same here. Our daughter did great at high school academics, testing, and civic activities; she was surprised she was accepted at UF. I was like what in the world do they want. She made straight A’s in Journalism at UF.

Got it. I was talking about Mast in my post. Unfortunately, sounds like UK is likely to land him.

My son, whom graduated in 22 with a 3.81 (4.0 scale) from the #3 rated public HS in PA was not accepted to UF either. But he was accepted at Temple, Pitt and Drexel.

Is UF now requiring you to apply to the specific college out of high school? When I was in high school, you just applied to UF and took the classes needed for an engineering degree. You didn't apply to the college of engineering until before your junior year.

All 3 of those are definitively above Florida, although yes Florida does have a good one. She was rejected by Florida in undergrad and grad school. But it worked out, got a degree from an Ivy that turned into amazing job at a place that would turn its nose up at a Florida degree.
