Regardless, it still counts as a proof of concept that it can be done here. Your opinion and mine don't matter on that, but it may catch a coach's attention when considering options. Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
Exactly. Alabama is the number overall seed...unless people really think Bama is a blue blood or something ridiculous smh
The would be a monster get. This kid is every thing we need… tough, gritty, super athletic, scoring pg.
Make it happen, Coach Golden! Get his whole family into town for this visit. Give him a piece of the flooring from a Final Four site. Get some coeds to bask in the sun by the pool in the new Heavener complex. Open the NIL bank. Make it happen!
saw him at the UF bookstore with a couple of the coaches and other people. Looked like he was very engaged with them.
Should have reached into your pocket and taken out all your cash and handed it to him and said, "This here's the first NIL money. There's lots more where this came from."
Haven’t seen him play, but the kid’s stats are fire. Hits his threes and free throws, very good on defensive glass for a guard, and takes great care of the ball. Had more steals than turnovers—not more turnovers created than committed or more steals than steals given up, but more steals forced than all turnovers committed. That’s a terrific line. The few guys who have done that in recent years (Myreon, Richard, Lewis) have done so with a massively lower usage rate (like 10% or so).
If Clayton commits, you'd have to think that would be enough to convince Kugel to stay. Then the Gators with Clayton, Kugel and Richards would have a nice backcourt to build around going into next year. This would be a game changer if Golden can close the deal.
I think Golden is good at relating to these kids, but playing for a NC coach that he knows the system for and has excelled in, and playing at MSG in the basketball Mecca is going to be tough to overcome.
True dat. But he's from Florida and has hometown family and friends within a 2-hour drive of Gainesville. Plus, there's no way St. Johns has the basketball facilities that UF has. Throw in the new Heavener Football center, which has facilities open to all Gator athletes, and UF's stature as a hoops power in the 21st century, and I like our chances.
