He would play less at minutes at arkie than he played here-am thinking he'd be better served at a solid mid major.

I'm taking a wild stab by predicting Arkansas, just think he may be a guy that catches Musselmans interest.

Why don’t you take a comprehensive look at Florida transfers over the last 10 years and compare it to other SEC programs.

Additionally, comparing Kentucky’s recruiting strategy to ours by pointing out the few transfers they have only strengthens my point.

Kentucky builds it program from 5 star recruits the way Billy did. Players are not transferring from UK because transfers are coming in. Players transfer from Kentucky because consensus HS ALL Americans are coming in.

if you could show me players of that caliber- McDonalds All Americans transferring to Florida, I say let’s get as many as we can, but it is a SMACK in the face of a young freshman or sophomore to put his trust in a program, and without even giving him a chance, the staff brings in transfers from other schools who are brought in to compete with the freshman who showed loyalty from the very beginning.

if you don’t see the difference then I am wasting my time. You cannot convince me that Aberdeen could not have averaged what Lofton, Richard, or Bonham averaged and if he was not capable of averaging FIVE POINTS A GAME (10 in Richard’s case) then why did we get a commitment from him? Now he has basically lost a year. Jitoboh basically lost 3 as did Lane. They sat behind people who put up PEDESTRIAN NUMBERS and who were obviously given playing time to justify their acquisition.

None of the players with perhaps the except of Fudge who transferred in averaged more points at Florida than at the team they left.

The net effect of their coming here was to thwart the development of Lane, Jitoboh, Aberdeen, and Reeves (who was the biggest victim of the massive influx of players.

And if you see no impact of these massive transfers on our HS recruiting, why have we landed only two 5-stars in the last 9 years (Three if you count Nembhard (who incidentally transferred)? Why do we have 3-star and a reclassified 0-star (to a 4-star)? What is your explanation for not even being in the top FIFTY in recruiting? A weakness in our recruiting or a perception that incoming freshman are not going to get time over transfers?

The over reliance on the portal began under White, when he started whiffing on HS recruits.

Early on, he would get an Egor, Canyon Barry, Hudson to round out a class. There's nothing wrong with that. In later years, it was 4-5. That's not a sustainable strategy.

I hope Golden gets that. He's kind of hamstrung at the moment, but he better put emphasis on HS recruiting so this can be corrected.

Lol, are you saying Jitoboh say behind a pedestrian player in Castleton? Is this a legit argument or are you trolling?

And how was Reeves development somehow stunted? He was the starting 2 guard to begin the season. His poor shooting forced him to the bench. He took more 3's than any player on the team this year.

    Past 4 years SEC transfers:
    Arkansas-18
    UGA-15
    LSU-13
    Miss. State-12
    Missouri-12
    UF-12
    South Carolina-12
    Texas A&M-11
    UK-9
    Ole Miss-9
    Vandy-8
    Bama-7
    Tennessee-5
    Auburn-5

At least half of the SEC has added 12 or more transfers the past 4 years. 8 of the 14 teams have added double digit transfers the past 4 years. So it's not like UF is doing something no other SEC team is doing.

It always baffled me that Andrew Nembhart (sp?) left the team.

I think he saw the talent of Mann who's style is much more.up tempo. I think had White had him and Mann another year with Johnson it could have been a special team.

Why are we only going back 4 years? Go back to the beginning of White’s tenure and quote those numbers, and point out the teams that have dominated the SEC in that same time period who are at the top of the transfer list.

Even in this list, the teams with the most transfers have had the least success. Vandy is an aberrstion because it is tough to get into.

The three best teams in the league UT, Bama, and Auburn (the ones who have been having deep ruins the tournament, have the fewest transfers.

UK’s is high because HS recruits are not able to gritting playing time because of other HS recruits not because transfers from other schools are coming in and taking their time.

If you want to know so bad, you do the research. Arkansas has had the best runs in the tournament the past few years, not UK, UT, Auburn or Bama. Bama has won 4 tournament games under Oats. Tennessee has won 5. Arkansas has won 8 in that same span.

Why did Golden never try Castleton at the 4, Jitoboh at the 5, Fudge at the 3, Richard or Reeves at the 2 and Lofton at the 1?

We would have had length, Castleton and Fudge wouldn’t have been overworked, Reeves and Richard would not have been constantly playing bigger and stronger guys, and we would have a constant low post high post option.

It was never even tried! Instead we constantly got this small ball relegation made infamous by Mike White.

My point was rather than fitting Jitoboh into the starting lineup, he (Golden) elected to go with Fudge, Felder, Richard, and Reeves.

Jitoboh averaged 12 minutes a game. Never got into condition because he was never given starter minutes. Had he gotten 36 minutes he would have averaged 10 points a game (extrapolating), and about 5 rebounds. More importantly, his presence would have prevented easy baskets that were not being blocked by Castleton and he wouldn’t have been worn down by being undersized.

Fudge and Felder were undersized at the 4. And even though they put up comparable or slightly better numbers than Jitoboh, they had to work harder because of their disadvantages. This not only wore them down in game, but it also wore them down over the course of the season. I am surprised Fudge has not bounced.

I believe Jitoboh. seeing that Golden would accept watching guys 3 inches shorter or 30 pounds lighter get out rebounded day after day without getting any significant added benefit on offense, was too much for him to stomach (and he’s a big guy). Ergo exit stage left.

Nembhard is way more uptempo than Mann. It’s now borderline whether Mann will be able to stay in the league. He has been terrible this season and has limited point guard skills at best. Nembhard appears to be locked in as a starter for the foreseeable future.

i don’t have to! Your refusal to post the plethora of transfers in the early white era speaks for itself.

LOL Arkansas’.last regular season SEC championship was 1994. The team's you cited with the fewest transfers- Alabama, Auburn, and Kentucky have won 6 out of the last 7 SEC regular season championships (which means they had the best SDC records with fewer transfers).

Thanks for helping me illustrate my point.

Perhaps Arkansas had better fortune in the NCAA's. But there multiple transfers have not translated to success in the regular season as the fewer transfers have with Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee who built SEC Championship teams through HS recruiting. Now go and twist some more statistics that I will debunk.

Because Castleton, Reeves, Lofton, Jitoboh and Fudge on the court gives you no floor spacing. That's 5 guys who shoot below 30% from 3. That's easy to defend. Go under all screens and sag in the paint.

Jitoboh was the worst rebounding big man on the roster. What are you talking about? He finished the year with 47 rebounds, Fudge had 143. Heck, Myreon Jones had 109 rebounds. So why would they sub in Jitoboh for rebounding purposes?

You first referenced tourney runs, realized you were wrong and then try to change the argument to regular season titles. Lol, nice job.

Practice? We are talking about practice?

How did practice turn into a dimming season for us? Obviously the assessments made in practice were inaccurate. And our lack of a legitimate power forward made “prsctice” an illusion. How can you practice for going up against 6’8” and 6’9” power forwards when you don’t have any legitimate ones yourself?
