Despite being evicted from the White House, Donald Trump remains this country’s biggest national security threat.

Trump, under a gag order, would be very entertaining to watch/read/listen to.

Not saying that it was his motivation but I still wouldn't doubt that Trump would have sold or provided the classified documents that he retained at Mar-a-Lago to the highest bidder most likely his good friend Vlad the genius.

Yeah, it's some sort of gas-lighting double speak. He bemoans that "they tell us to be peaceful" and warns of death and destruction. He knows better than to expressly advocate violence. So we get something that sounds like, "Nice country we have here...would be a shame if something happened to it." Even some who probably don't like Trump will contort themselves to downplay it because they are scared of Trump and/or worried about a potential rift within the GOP if Trump's base isn't mollified.

I'm not saying his posts reach the level of criminality, but presumably there's a line somewhere between here and an express call to arms.

Is there any question now, that DT called for violence on J6, as he is now? Can Jack Smith use this in his investigation, as the pattern appears to be that when Trump feels loss of power or criminal liability, he calls for violence. How can anyone continue to support him (I mean other than Putin)?

I agree. I don't believe that rose to the level of a crime, but I can see a judge issuing a limited gag order.

So I missed the bat image from yesterday.

Trump posts disturbing photo with Alvin Bragg, threatens 'death and destruction'

Trump shared the image of himself holding a baseball bat — with Bragg’s hands up — on his Truth Social platform Thursday as he devoted his day to attacking the prosecutor for pursuing a case over a “hush money” payout to porn star Stormy Daniels. The bat image was pulled from an article that he shared but was not removed.

Today, Fox News reported white powder and a death threat against the prosecutor. Sounds like the powder has been deemed non hazardous, so that's good.

Package with suspicious powder delivered to Manhattan DA's office amid Trump probe: 'Alvin, I'll kill you'

Emergency personnel have responded after a package with suspicious white powder was delivered to the mail room for the New York City building housing the Manhattan District Attorney's office, according to police.

A law enforcement source confirmed there was a note saying "Alvin – I’ll kill you" in the envelope. District Attorney Alvin Bragg is currently weighing whether to proceed with an indictment against former President Donald Trump for alleged hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

High powered criminals everywhere will love that. Just intimidate prosecutors into not bringing charges. What a great example to set by the leader of the party of "law and order".

There was an arc the series Billions a few years ago where a U.S. attorney was trying to get rid of his boss, the Attorney General, by stirring up an investigation — if memory serves — of the AG’s brother that had little to no legs. The purpose was to get the AG to try to interfere, then charge him with obstruction of justice at the state level. When I saw how Trump just couldn’t sit back, keep his mouth shut, and let this situation play out, I remember wondering if this wasn’t the real intent of what is frankly a silly investigation: get an already unstable man to hang himself with his overreaction. If so, then genius. And it may well work.

I guess that editorial may be an indication that the Murdoch family isn't supporting Trump anymore although I strongly suspect that if he ends up as the Republican presidential nominee Rupert and sons will rally around him as they have done in the past.

They probably do. Fortunately, a presidential election has not come close to remotely being "stolen" in decades. On the other hand there is a certain defeated presidential candidate with Narcissistic Personality Disorder who refuses to acknowledges that he was defeated. Unfortunately he is also a con artist with the gift of persuading extremely gullible marks that the election was stolen from him.

The only people that believe that are Donald Trump and those nutjobs Jordan Klepper interviews. Not even Fox "News" believes that.

Now, we know you're not Donald Trump, so....

Twice impeached Donald Trump lost the 2020 election in an embarrassing landslide.

Agreed, ugly and harmful statements from Trump, even if his grievances are warranted.

It’s a garbage move but intelligent nonetheless.
