Defamation case. Old news. Please try to keep up. She’ll be getting a sample of his DNA soon as well.

No, maybe for you to just stop being such a miscreant. When you and others have asked legal questions without a political aspect, I try to answer them correctly to the best of my ability and without editorializing. On topics outside of my practice areas, I generally don't offer input or minimal input with a disclaimer.

You, on the other hand, have been spouting copious amounts of legal nonsense in this thread and others without the first idea what you are posting about.

I asked you find a post where I posted something incorrect legally. There are a lot of attorneys on this board, including some righties who don't particularly care for my political views, and none of them are too shy to correct me if I goof up (which I'm sure I probably have.)

Just remember this: I can walk into any state court in the state of Florida and be qualified as an expert witness to express an expert opinion on criminal law matters. If you tried to do that, you would politely be told to shut your pie hole and, if you persisted, you could possibly be explaining why you shouldn't be held in contempt and sentenced to 1 day shy of 6 months in jail. Capiche?

When it comes to grifting no one is even remotely close to Trump. What's really amazing is that Trump's history as a con artist has been public knowledge for many years. It's almost as if he's able to cast a spell on his supporters disabling their ability to think rationally. A good con artist is one who is able to deceive his marks. A truly extraordinary con artist is one who is able to con his marks even when they should know that they are being conned.

Yeah maybe you should hit the sack or find other issues to discuss where you’re keeping track of what’s going on. Confusion is exhausting!

Well Congressman Jordan, chair of the House Judicial Committee, failed the bar exam. Can he be expected to keep up with rules, laws, the constitution and such?

I’m a future attorney and have cited the opinion of well-renowned attorneys.

You have a tendency to editorialize and lie. You were right on the issue of whether a crime was committed and it looks like you were correct in stating when the statute of limitations clock begins for the the records crime, but you have a tendency to editorialize, insult, and lie. In light of your tendency to lie and editorialize, I find it fitting to present a balancing opinion even if I don’t have the same credentials as you provided that they are supported by evidence, law, or other expert legal opinions.

No fancy letters next to your name changes your identity, nor does it change the truth of your statements, and I will hold the same position when I become an attorney. A JD and a bar license doesn’t make you God.

Also, this is Too Hot, not a courtroom, everyone’s entitled to an opinion and a voice.

Some people are curious and enjoy learning (me included,) some people are content remaining ignorant.

I learn every day and am more than willing to admit when I’m wrong.

On this thread, there were two times it appears when I was wrong and you were right:
    1. Motive for the Stormy Daniels payment determining legality versus illegality in this case. Motive is determinative for campaign finance (in this case), not falsifying of records.
    2. When the statute of limitations clock starts: I stated it starts when a payment/reimbursement was made. That appears to be incorrect.

I understand he is from a highly gerrymandered district, so no chance he gets unseated, but it is hard to find any substantial legislation he has sponsored. I watched a hearing on facial recognition that he Co-chaired. Listening to the high quality of questions from several representatives to the witnesses and then from Jordan was like night and day.

FYI this is a map of his district. It essentially includes suburban and rural parts of Northern and central Ohio while specifically excluding urban areas with minorities.

Trump ratchets up rhetoric (emphasis added):

Trump Ratchets Up Violent Rhetoric, Warns of ‘Death and Destruction’ Over Possible Charges

One day after posting what many saw as inciteful language on social media, former President Donald Trump took things to the next level, warning of “potential death & destruction” if he were to be charged with a crime.

    ***

EVERYBODY KNOWS I’M 100% INNOCENT, INCLUDING BRAGG, BUT HE DOESN’T CARE. HE IS JUST CARRYING OUT THE PLANS OF THE RADICAL LEFT LUNATICS. OUR COUNTRY IS BEING DESTROYED, AS THEY TELL US TO BE PEACEFUL!

    ***

What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country? Why & who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath that truely hates the USA!

I think the silver lining is that a bunch of Trumpster morons lost their freedom and their right to vote on 1/6. Hopefully there will be more in the coming days.

"highly gerrymandered" does not describe this nonsense.

Need a wow emoji for this or maybe a bat guano emoji. He seems to be threatening NYC, at the least, with death and destruction if our justice system dares to hold him accountable. What a statesman.
