If that kind of testimony is all you have, especially considering the person's crimes are that of dishonesty, then it would certainly be rare.

Said it before I still do not think an indictment of Trump in the Stormy Daniels case is a sure thing but if Bragg does decide to indict Trump it will be because he believes that he has strong case. Although Cohen will almost certainly testify Bragg will not be relying on his testimony alone. I'm sure that there will be other more credible witnesses as well as strong documentary evidence.

There is a fairly common prosecutor's response to that claim.."I didn't select Mr. Criminal as a witness, the defendant did...these are the people he chose to associate with and, in this instance, commit crimes with. He chose the witnesses to his criminal activity, not me."

Have you ever been involved in a government investigation as an accused or a witness?

    That is incredibly circular.

    It’s begging the question.

“How do we know this person committed the crime.”

“Because we have this star witness.”

“Your star witness is garbage and has a history of dishonest criminal activity.”

“Well he picked him in choosing to commit crimes with him.”

That’s the whole point, you need more than an unreputable and dishonest witness to pin down Trump.

We don’t know if Trump is guilty of THIS crime just for associating with Cohen, if we did, we can infer guilt on anybody for all sorts of things just for associating with criminals.

You don't know what evidence they have. One thing I can tell you with a high level of certainty is that they have far more than "co-conspirator" (obviously not the technically correct term...at this point) testimony only if they are seeking indictment. We don't know what's on the other tapes recorded by Cohen, we don't know what the other witnesses have said, nor do we know all of the evidence they have to corroborate Cohen's testimony.

    It's not circular, it's accurate.

Briefly worked for a guy who was a minor league version of trump, a bully from NY with eastern European financing who didn't like paying bills except for those of his GF, drained the cash out of a profitable company, bankrupting it and walked away while ruining the lives of several people.I knew.

I refused to sign off on fraudulent tax returns and bank reports as he requested and resigned long before the collapse, but he brought in his personal accountant to do his bidding. Would have happily testified against his fraud but sadly that type of corruption is rarely prosecuted.

    Got a point?

My guess, Trump gets out of this fine, it rallies his base, but Democrats get more embarrassing material, their headlines, and their photo op.

And that's really the game here. It's much closer to a stunt than a genuine attempt at blind justice.

Seems pretty obvious as to why the payment was made and who authorized it. What's ur theory? Just curious.

To spare Trump from embarrassment, in which case, not illegal.

Nope, still illegal, but just a misdemeanor. You can't avoid paying NY state tax by writing your whore payments off as legal fees.

Watch this, there are some quotes attributable to Trump that will be troubling for him.

Exactly, everyone knows you write off your whore payments as sales & marketing. It’s GAAP.

Donald Trump's fans sent him $1.5 million in 3 days after he falsely claimed that he'd get arrested on Tuesday

Former President Donald Trump raised $1.5 million in the three days after he falsely claimed on Truth Social that he'd be arrested on Tuesday, per multiple media outlets.

Trump's 2024 campaign confirmed the sum to Fox News, the outlet reported Wednesday. The money was raised from grassroots donations, according to Fox.

The Washington Post, citing an anonymous source familiar with the matter, reported the same amount raised in that time frame.

Receiving $1.5 million over three days means Trump raised an average of $500,000 per day — almost double the daily average when he announced his bid for the White House in November.

And the Statute of Limitations has passed if it’s a misdemeanor.

Considering the timing it's rational to infer that Trump's attempt to silence Stormy Daniels was directly related to his presidential campaign and by the way sparing him embarrassment and protecting him from disclosure that could adversely affect his campaign are not only not mutually exclusive they're directly related.

The standard isn’t rational or reasonable, it’s “beyond a reasonable doubt.”

It’s also a reasonable deduction that Stormy Daniels wanted to come out with this because of Trump’s Presidential run because she saw dollar signs, but Trump wanted to silence her and planned on silencing her regardless of whether he was running for President.
