That was one of a number of crimes Cohen plead guilty to in exchange for lighter sentencing in other areas.

So a crime was committed? And Trump was a co-conspirator? If the answer to both of these questions are yes, then indicting Trump on the same crime is not a fishing expedition, is it not? You can argue it's not worth indicting Trump over this when there are much larger concerns. But the counter argument for this is why should Trump, or anyone, be above the law?

    No.

But if you want to rely on Cohen’s credibility to condemn Trump, have at it. Good luck with that.

Cohen's credibility alone, I agree with you. But assuming there is other evidence such as a paper trail and/or recorded conversations between Trump and Cohen, then this evidence against Trump should see the light of day. Which it has, in the grand jury, I believe. And why this isn't a fishing expedition against Trump at all. It's the justice system at work.

This entire post is unsubstantiated speculation.

It’s relying on your gut, and expecting everyone else to believe you.

Chris Wray , who is THE DIRECTOR, of the FBI is a Republican (as I think they all or almost all have been) and a member of The Federalist Society. He might be interested in your theory of how far left you perceive him to be.

Might have something to do with Tapioca pudding getting removed as counsel. I assume that could cause an indefinite delay

Not so fast. Here is the recorded conversation when the McDougal deal was set up. There are more tapes. Daniel's was done the same way, setting up a corporation to funnel the money through. The paper trail exists...Cohen sent fake retainer invoices at $30,000/month and Trump himself signed some of the checks.

I enjoy reading how people vociferously and unequivocally state what “a complete reach” an investigation is, or how conclusive an investigation is, when nobody outside the grand jury and the prosecution actually knows the full scope of the investigation or the evidence adduced from the investigation.

    Im a ways in.

Is there anything in there about his motivation for the payment?

That’s without even getting into the sources which you guys would immediately dismiss if the roles were reversed, The National Enquirer and Chris Cuomo at CNN.

Maybe it’s because the people involved have outed themselves as politically motivated, they have rightfully lost all institutional trust, and every investigation on the same guy has gone nowhere to this point.

Well, trump wasn’t indicted during the specific time frame you reference. You seem to be conflating 2 different things 1. The FBI is liberal and hates trump; and 2. The DOJ was headed by a Dem from 2012-2016.

    Read the thread dude.

I was rebutting the argument that Hillary was investigated during that time as well, as though that was comparable to the political motivations surrounding the Trump investigations.

A quote indicating motive for the payment.
