Yeah Trump appointed poorly. As Dershowitz said, “you can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich in New York if you call that ham sandwich Trump.”
In this context, yes. He absolutely has. Anybody who has law enforcement following them around fishing for a crime while ignoring the same crimes from other people has been victimized by law enforcement.
It's not fishing when the damn "fish" keeps jumping in the boat. The easy solution for Trump if he is really tired of these investigations is to stop committing crimes.
And to stop antagonizing anyone and everyone constantly. He goes out of his way to make enemies by bullying, mocking, and just being a general ahole towards them, and then cries like a three year old when they push back.
The original source of that comment and it's applicable to any grand jury involving any defendant anywhere and actually potential defendants are better off in New York than in most other states since they can always testify before a grand jury themselves or provide witnesses to testify on their behalf as Trump did with Robert Costello. In almost every other state potential defendants do not have that option. New York State chief judge Sol Wachtler was famously quoted by Tom Wolfe in The Bonfire of the Vanities that "a grand jury would 'indict a ham sandwich,' if that's what you wanted." Trump Grand Jury Hears From Lawyer Who Assails Cohen’s Credibility
The New York investigation is a complete reach. And they campaigned on going after Trump. It’s fishing and they all but told you they’re fishing.
Funny, NY didn't ignore the exact crime Trump may be indicted for when they attained a guilty plea from Cohen.
There’s this thing called the First Amendment that allows you to mock people without being targeted by law enforcement for it.
Yes a guilty plea regarding campaign finance violations in connection with the Trump Campaign. Doesn’t exactly help your point there.
There is no denying Trump can be an ass hole but the Trumps are no more criminal than the Clintons or Bidens. It is worse than fishing what has been done to Trump over the last few years, it is more like fishing with a cast net for a species that is rod & reel legal only. Catch that fish by any means necessary, legal or not.
Im saying in the case of Stormy Daniels, a crime likely was not committed, and even if a crime was committed, it would be unbelievably hard to prove. And I’m saying New York is trying to work some legal magic to get Trump on “something.” The only way you get any of this is through that mentality.
He isn’t being targeted, he committed a crime. And if he didn’t he will exonerated and can sue for any number of things, especially if the charges were fabricated to try and get him. The point was, if you’re out there doing stuff that is at best in a gray area, don't mock the people who can hold you accountable for it. If I drive up to a cop and say “you’re an idiot”; that’s first amendment protected too, but I would be damn sure not to speed and to use my turn signal as I was driving away. I would also say, why don’t we wait and see what the charges are and what the evidence is (assuming he is charged) before calling it a politically motivated with hunt?
I don't believe you are familiar with the available evidence. This trial should be a real eye opener for you.
Yeah what was interesting to me yesterday is that the witness that was called was supposedly there to tear down Cohen. The DA had the option to call Cohen back afterwards and chose not to. Which says one of two things: That Cohen isn’t even an important player in this, which means they have documentation well beyond Cohen’s testimony. Which is really bad news for Donald. And/or the guy didn’t do much to shake Cohen’s testimony. Which again is bad news for Donald. either way, the fact that Cohen wasn’t called back yesterday tells me an indictment is coming and they believe they have a solid case. whether they actually do is another story, we will see what the evidence is. I am still not convinced they can get a conviction.
A crime was not committed, yet Michael Cohen, a lawyer, plead guilty? To what did Cohen plead guilty to, then, if a crime was not committed? And remember, Trump was listed as a co-conspirator. I'm really confused. I have no idea why a lawyer would plead guilty to a crime that was never committed.
