The transformation of the United States in the time period you are referring to is just remarkable. Regarding your Grandpa and his wisdom: Sage advice, from a learned man!
No, I'm not sure where the Villages thing started, but this kid isn't from there. He's a Polk County kid - played for Lake Wales/Bartow.
interesting story, but most likley it was a banded water snake, which very similar to a mocasin and gramps knew it wasn't going to harm him
No, it was a Moccasin.I grew up in Florida, fishing, hunting in th swamps/woods, swimming, scuba diving and surfing. Camping out a lot too. I have seen more than my share of moccasins and rattle snakes. I have even seen huge king snakes, pigmy rattlers, water snakes, grass snakes, rat snakes, corn silk snakes, coral snakes and even black snakes. My dad had logging crews that went into the swamps every day. Some of his loggers cleared forests so interstate highways could be built, I-10 right of way for the Apalachicola River.
Do even better, bring Pitino and his PG to Gainesville. Then we might actually have a chance to land quality players via HS and the portal.
I caught some of the Iona v. UConn game today. Clayton looked really good. Actually, both Iona guards looked good, and Iona as a team looked good. Better than the Gators, easily. The big difference in the two teams today was UConn's post men were just too much for Iona.
My family was so tough that, when I was a kid up in NY, we would come down to Miami Beach for a week or two in the winter.
No problem Planet . I drink a few beers and I get a black belt in Keyboard. We are good ! Thx for reaching. My apologies as well
The coach behind 4 of those final fours and both championships left 8 years ago. There is nothing about this program besides the banners that resembles those achievements.
At first he did, then he talked with Foley and told him to give Billy 5 years. When Foley wisely agreed, I think his tune changed.
