Two things here: 1) FDU got the benefit of a play-in game, which got them tuned up and increased their confidence. 2) How did they get a tourney bid at 19-15 w/o winning their conference tourney?

Great question. I had to look it up. Here's the answer I found:

The Knights (FDU) entered the Northeast Conference Tournament as the second seed and will face off against Merrimack College on Tuesday in the conference final. Regardless of the outcome of this game, Fairleigh Dickinson will be representing the conference in the NCAA March Madness Tournament.

Merrimack is still in the midst of its four-year reclassification process from Division II to Division I. This makes them ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, but the NEC announced last summer that it would allow Merrimack to participate in the conference tournament this year. After going 12-4 in conference play and 17-16 overall this year, Merrimack managed to secure the top seed and cruise through the tournament.

Since Merrimack is ineligible, Fairleigh Dickinson will represent the NEC in the NCAA March Madness tournament as they are the second-ranked team in the conference.

How did Fairleigh Dickinson make it to NCAA March Madness without winning their conference tournament?

How Fairleigh Dickinson will make NCAA Tournament even if it loses NEC title game

Won't be watching, but rooting for anybody that plays Bama and to a lesser extent Auburn. .

Would be nice to see Gonzaga finally win one,but seems unlikely.

    1. Missouri due to family. And who couldn't like what Dennis Gates accomplished.

    2. Any team playing Alabama. Low life buggars and thugs. I won't watch any game they play. Some team, please step up or at least bring old school hard fouls back for a game.

    3. Mids never get respect they deserve and the players from those schools are viewed as second-class chattel. I like them. Go ruin the year for some fan bases.

how did Mississippi State University get into the tournament? They bowed out gracefully after one game. Plus, there’s school colors suck

    K State beats KY. 75 - 69.
KJ with a huge 3 late at a critical moment.

I thought that sequence absolutely turned momentum in favor of K-State. Kentucky had stayed up 1-2 as they traded baskets but Key hit that NBA step-back 3 and then went down and grabbed a huge rebound. I'm so happy for him!

Happy for Key and it was a gut punch right to the nuts.

We didnt deserve it which is typical of Calipari’s time at UK. One year closer to the end of him.

Cannot blame it on Oscar. 25 - 18. Just dominated the inside. He's got to be wayyy up the NBA draft board.

Im not even sure he will be drafted honestly! He is just an under the rim type player.

The whole damn team may leave… nothing would surprise me.

Totally agree. The freaky outlier 3 just before KJs was brutal but survivable. When KJ hit that (and IIRC, after an offensive rebound by K-State), it put UK into chasing possessions mode.

Kudos to them for drawing the last 50 seconds out for 20 minutes. I guess.

Yep and the one make was with 6 seconds to go lol. Just been a dumpster fire for years with Calipari. It is like that train wreck that I predicted in 2015 and yet here we are about to crash.
