This is pretty amazing. Drone flights every 90 seconds delivering critical medical supplies to remote hospitals in Rwanda. Soon to be delivering your Amazon goodies.

I was at the first ever drone medical delivery in the US (RAM in Wise, VA) and also managed a drone delivery project for Chipotle. Both were almost a decade ago now.

I am disappointed that it hasn’t already become widespread. But I also saw how Chipotle struggled with the logistics of it in an entirely closed, controlled setting.

I also know that at the RAM event the biggest concern was us hillbillies shooting the drone down. They literally went and spoke to every household along the flight path and begged them not to provide the world with one more hillbilly joke. No shots fired!

I moved on from that job in 2016 but rumor was the next project was Amazon testing the floating warehouse/drone delivery concept. I don’t know if that ever happened but it was def a real concept.

Some Walmarts in the Tampa area are trying it. For $3.99 they'll deliver 10 pounds up to 1 mile from the store, within half an hour, they say.

Walmart launches drone delivery service in Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk counties

Do you have to tip the drone? I have whatever there annual delivery service is called and I can generally get my purchases delivered by a person within 3 or 4 hours.

The use of drones to deliver medical supplies to remote hospitals in Rwanda is a remarkable leap in technology. This innovation could transform healthcare accessibility in such areas. And who would've thought that drones might someday be delivering more than just packages? While we wait for our Amazon goodies to arrive via drones, it's a fantastic example of how technology is making a positive impact. By the way, when dealing with cutting-edge technology, it's always good to prioritize safety, just like how safety goggles are crucial in various scenarios. Stay curious and excited about these incredible advancements!
