From the Chinese perspective a wet market origin is as bad and embarrassing as a lab leak. They tried to close these things down and publicly have stated live animals were not being sold there, which is an obvious lie. The idea that Chinese government wants it known that Covid came from caged raccoon dogs sold at illegal wet markets for food is laughable.

Where do you think info about the Wuhan lab is coming from if not Chinese sources? Are you skeptical of that information as well? Consider the source right?

You’ve got your mind made up because you want this to be a Chinese lab leak.

One of the primary reasons I dropped out of the Coronavirus threat was how much I learned from this podcast over the past 3 years. Experts. Men and Women with decades of knowledge and experience discussing the data.

The racoon dog observation dates back to Kristian Anderson's Proximal Origins paper. I had read about racoon dogs and the viruses they were known to care about 2 years ago.

I am indeed a bit confused here. Are you suggesting that because you aren’t a part of the official investigation that your claims require no justification and are not allowed to be critiqued? If so, I think you owe a lot of other posters an apology.

Occurring in nature or leaked from Lab ?

    Neither.

When government scientists employed by the CPC claimed to “find a virus” (for example, Li-Li Ren’s 402123 and Fan Wu’s MN908947, the first two), their claimed “viral” sequences were created on computers — and not actually found in a human patient.

This is what the studies themselves admit openly.

And the primary driver of mass-hysteria, the “covid test” (the PCR) uses only computer models that have never been shown to come from a virus, match a virus or cause disease.

If there was a leak it was a leaked email.

Mind isn’t made up, it’s just a big damn coincidence now the info is “allowed out”.
Just seems very convenient that they may have found the alleged vector 3 years ago but now it’s being bellied about.

Occam’s razor comes to mind, what’s more likely samples of viruses known to be studied in a lab at the epicenter of COVID or a virus jumps species right down the road from said lab…

I think it coming from a lab leak is worse for China for two reasons. First it shows they were studying/experimenting with something and they screwed up. The Wuhan lab was known to be sloppy in general.
Secondly man involved accident and subsequent denial is far harder to forgive than some cross specimens mutation
(harder to be mad at nature). @I_boy

I don’t understand how that is worse for China. How does that make the slightest bit of difference for China?

Yeah I don’t think so. With the lab leak you can make the accusation (wrongly or rightly ) that the US somehow funded it but people illegally selling and eating infected dogs is just not a robust reminder of the Chinese miracle.

Don’t agree we know many people do many illegal things in every country.
If the Chinese didn’t have an appetite for those types of food there wouldn’t be wet markets. Why do you think they care what the rest of the world thinks of their food choices? The legality?
They use child labor ya think they give two craps about what we think of what they eat?

For you, matches. Because your insurance company could deny the claim or you could be charged with arson etc etc. Now please explain to me how it’s worse for the Chinese if it’s a lab leak. What consequences would they face that they otherwise wouldn’t if it was just a raccoon dog?

A man made pandemic (even by accident) and then complete denial is worse than a natural event(genetic dice roll).

I doubt there will be any major consequences either way.
I suppose if it was proven to be a lab leak and the survivors of the dead due to covid took a case before the world court in theory there could be some recompense but it’s very unlikely that would happen. China has too many people by the balls. The world loves their cheap child and slave labor too much.

You aren’t making sense. I simply stated I thought the new claim was garbage. No need to apologize to anyone for that. Now, if you want people to apologize, I assume you have a long list of people who were wrong about lockdowns, school closures, masks, natural immunity and vaccinating kids. Seems you are very selective in what you are pointing out.

These are just buzzwords with no tangible value. In reality it makes no difference.

So it’s worse for them but they won’t face any different consequences. I’m just not seeing how it’s really any worse for them if that’s the case.

This is about as close to what probably happened that we are going to get. How can you tell if a Chinese communist party member is lieing? His lips are moving.

How could they chase it down after the fact without the cooperation of the Chinese government?

I hope that in ten years when this is all behind us a scientist working in the area will right a well researched book. It won’t be 100 percent conclusive but it will be a best guess by somehow with the education and experience to make a guess.
