Why wouldn't he transfer? He probably wants to play in the NCAA tourney before he bolts for the NBA and that ain't happening next season.

The amateur part is for the tax exemption and it went nowhere when Congress was looking into it decades ago. I'm sure some of the sports are legitimately amateur but it's time for another look IMHO, or at least for the sports that are appear to be professional. Let's face it, whenever clubs become select, they enter in that grey area of professionalism.

To me, he has two avenues to getting into the NBA, he had to get stouter or he had to develop an outside shot. I could also say he can be an off-ball defender but he still needs more. If you watched the first Vandy game, Robbins is much more prepared to accomplish this, even though CC is a great overall player in college.

Yep. College sports will die a slow death without major restructuring, I don't care what the loyalists say.

Others are leaving. Why not wait and see who is coming in first?

UNC is the poster child for NIL. 3 guys getting a bunch of money and their play this year showed.

Did you know that the NFL was actually a not for profit until 2015? I kid you not.

Hard to say what happens here. Kid has exceptionally upside and is a nice fit for the pro game (defends multiple positions, terrific handles, has a nice outside shot, but can get to the rim and elevate). I think the extra spacing in the lane should help him reduce turnovers and finish better at the rim. But, IIRC, he didn't even start in HS until his junior year, so pretty inexperienced. Hopefully a NIL deal + chance to be focal point of offense next year will bring him back.

Kugel seems to be getting a lot of first round talk among NBA scouts. Don’t see him transferring but it would seem declaring for the NBA Draft is definitely a possibility.

I've had these fears too. Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I said out loud when I turned into that ucf game, "may as well watch Kugel in a Gator jersey one last time."

I'd be thrilled for him to come back, but I'm super doubtful.

I really wish that Matt Bonner would sit down with kids that have NBA talent and tell them how to best monitize it. He had it, had a great career and didn't waste his money. I bet he has a lot of money in the bank right now. It isn't always doing it ASAP. The big money is the second contract. Sometimes waiting a year is a good thing but not always. Bradley Beal was a no brainer for being a one and done. RK is not but if he does goes go one and done I hope that he is smart with his money.

If he he transfers for NIL reasons, that could be the death blow to my college athletics fandom.

Why would he want to return when he has no one coming in as a freshman, he has no idea what the transfer portal is going to bring, he is losing the best player on the team, and in my opinion, the second best, Reeves, is transferring to another school? Even if Florida offered him a nice NIL deal (which we won't), the reward is outweighed by the lack of commitment to winning right now at Florida.

But why stay at a program that has demonstrated unequivocally that it does not really want to compete on an SEC level?
