It’s already split, and if the Manhattan DA can indict a poor black man then they better indict a rich orange man.
Crimes are a loose term. It's very difficult to determine from the general public what actually occurred. That's one of my gripes with our current criminal justice system. If the general population can't wrap there heads around the basics, it's ineffective. Case in point, we let Casey Anthony roam free after murdering her child but are possibly about to arrest a former president over hush money? I don't see the moral equivalent. To me, our criminal justice system is rapidly losing legitimacy. And maybe we need a new government altogether. It's sounding more and more likely that our current system isn't redeemable.
We didn’t “let” Casey Anthony roam free any more than George Zimmerman or OJ Simpson. She went through a trial. She went through the legal process. Unfortunately a jury probably got that one wrong and/or it was set up with the wrong charges to consider. That’s always a risk in a jury system. But I really don’t see the parallel to those cases, they were all charged, as they should have been. Trump is more comparable to not charging a crooked cop, because “qualified immunity” or (insert made up reason here). The thing with Trump, if it were just the Stormy Daniels case I’d tend to agree. But this is a guy that clearly doesn’t think he is beholden to the law. Just today, reported that he kept a $7,000 set of “gold plated” golf clubs he received as a gift from Japan. Presidents aren’t supposed to keep “gifts”. It’s supposed to be turned over to the national archives and put in his museum. He took it and stashed it somewhere instead. Do I care about that? Not really, it’s not even small potatoes (more like micro potatoes), but it’s just one more example to add to the never ending pile.
The GOP lost a chunk of voters to independents. They and women aren’t voting Trump. Young voters also showed up in 2020. I still think DOJ/Georgia/DeSatan takes him out but if not he’s still not winning.
I mostly agree, but I think it's time for a major reform. If you or I had done what the elites do, we would be behind bars for a lot of it. A good example would be the classified docs. That's should be a minimum loss of security clearance for both DJT and Biden. Negligence is no excuse either, you are liable for the information regardless. I could go on and on, but the elites and major corporation don't play by the same rules. The entire system needs to be reformed.
This will be first of several indictments that should have been served long ago. This is good for our country and hopefully shows that nobody should be above the law
Trump has called for protests at his arrest. More idiots (otherwise known as Proud Boys etc.) will be flocking to the Big Apple for the Big Orange. "It's going to be wild!"
That is really the “upside”. Rather than just viewing it as a single indictment, the “upside” that the dam could break on several indictments that seem like they should be pretty damned obvious. In Georgia, they have audio recordings for crying out loud, just as there was for the Ukraine scandal. You have 2 separate instances of Nixon tapes level corruption. Guys whole political career is a big crime spree.
At least this time there will be plans for the violence. And not infiltrating anti-democracy traitors within secret service and the capital police aiding and abetting.
Yeah he did. He learned that he can get people to do some pretty horrible things in his name and at his bidding. I’ve said before, does anyone really think he’d be anything but pleased if there were serious unrest and violence in his name?
Well, Mike Pence let him down the last time. He's probably hoping that this time protesters will convince the presiding judge to send back the indictment to where it came from. IOW to "do the right thing."
