A fascinating insight into the first few weeks of studying SARS-CoV-2 from a guy who was there. Eddie Holmes is leading virologist in Australia and was actually in the wet market in Wuan collecting samples in December of 2019 and was a long time collaborated with the Wuhan CDC. He worked with the virologist group at the Wuhan Institute for years. Further, he was on the constroversian call where Kristian Anderson presented fears of an engineered virus to experts who shared knowledge where idiots claim that Fauci threatened them all. He was THERE and provides a first hand account of that call. He provides a first hand account of the day-by-day learning and investigation and actual science going on early on. He also discusses how his colleague in China was able to send him data on the outbreak and genetic sequences and tissue samples until he was caught be the Chinese government and punished.

He also discusses at length what the Wuhan Virology Institue were working on in the year prior to the outbreak.

It is completely fascinating. It is very, very heavily geeky on virology, but HE was THERE. Why we listned to idiots on Twitter, we listen to moronic internal medicine and radiologists about the origins. We listed to the Department of Energy non-experts.

Yet the American Media refuse to report on the stories of people who were there and can provide first hand accounts. We will not listen to the actual experts who were there, who were involved in the studying and sequencing of the virus. Too much work to actually go find these sources and hear them.

One wonders what makes this hypothesis so obviously ludicrous.

I agreed with you that the community should have been more open to chasing the lab leak hypothesis from the beginning. However, it now seems that you are against investigating the new hypothesis. It hardly seems like true openness if one is only open to their preferred idea.

I still suspect it probably came from a lab but I can’t dismiss this out of hand like you’re seemingly doing. The bottom line is that we’re never going to know definitively where it came from due to Chinese obfuscation. But you seem to have your mind made up.

Did I say not to investigate the "racoon dogs"? I just said I don't buy it.

Actually you called it garbage. Why investigate garbage? Also how can we know an idea is garbage before even investigating it?

Can be worn by either natural or man made proponents. Maybe different colors so we can tell you apart!

I’ll try to listen to this one. I actually follow that podcast but it is often more technical than I can follow and I don’t listen to most episodes.

Have you ever wondered how you came to be so enlightened that the rest of us humans are comparative idiots?

For starters I went deeper than a Man on TV and began to examine the tenets and methods of virology and began to read the so-called isolation papers.

Why would I have to wear one ? I’m not the guy who believes in my dead cellular debris making other people sick.

This can’t be the answer because virology is a whole academic field comprising countless PhD educated individuals, who have each read hundreds of virology papers. If anything, this suggests that becoming more educated on this issue makes you more likely to accept that viruses are real.

So, we are left with the same question: How is it that you can see something that is invisible to all of those intelligent individuals who have also read more than you on the topic?

Do you believe that Islam is the truth ? After all, it’s 1,300 years old and has been overseen and vouched for by multitudes of highly educated scholars. Moreover, how can two billion people be wrong ?

Stop it Stop it! I admit it!! I poured the elixir down the sink.
How was I supposed to know mixing weird guts from China, soaking it in tabasco and HCL with a dash of sulfur, would do this??

You may be onto something. Guts, Tabasco and HCL would make people sick. Might even kill them. But there’s no evidence it transmits from person to person. So there are still some loose ends here.

If we proved Islam was false, would that prove that viruses are false?

I am asking how you know that you are right and all others are wrong about viruses. It cannot be because you’ve read more, since virologists have read more than you. So again, why is it you can see a truth to which all others are blind?

What I’m saying is that an appeal to scientists is not science. Science comes into play when we evaluate the claims made by scientists.

Read a paper, any paper alleging the isolation of any virus. Consult either methods or materials section. Tell me if you think that sounds like isolation in the sense that we’ve always interpreted the term.

Also, don’t imagine that I’m alone in my own little no virus camp. WE ARE EVERYWHERE. Some of us are former virologists.
