It was not, just trying to show the entire exchange that led to my conclusion that when 715 sees "limited government conservative," his mind thinks of Democrats. ;)

So much incoherent irrational nonsense in one post. You're all over the place.

L_boy: "We know slaves were people, the majority was wrong."

L_boy: "We define 'people' as we choose, based on majority opinion."

L_boy: "I don't think the majority should have had a legal right to own slaves just because their opinion was in the majority."

L_boy: "I do think the majority should have a legal right to abortions because their opinion is in the majority."

Honestly, this post takes the cake on circular logic. It's honestly unbelievable. And no, post 669 does not answer whether you think "allowing abortion until point of birth" is a "reasonable solution."

These extreme Republican proposals remind me of college parties where a drunk group of dudes keep trying to outcompete each other with more outlandish claims of what each will do. 99% of them are full of it and won't follow through, but every once in a while some nutter actually follows through.

So while most of these extreme political proposals (tracking women's cycles, death penalties for women who have an abortion) are almost guaranteed to just be grandstadning attempts to say the most ridiculous thing, all it takes is one or two of them to actually follow through with "streaking through the quad up to the gymnasium," so to speak.

    Maybe third time's the charm.

I stated that limited government conservatives need their own party and mascot, like a Northern White Rhino (almost extinct) or unicorn.

You responded saying "Democrats already have the perfect mascot..."

It's not a big leap to read your comment like you're arguing with me over the perfect mascot for limited government conservatives, i.e. Democrats.

Yeah, I wasn't saying that Democrats are the limited government party. I was just saying they already have the perfect mascot.

In fairness, the more liberal posters are largely the ones in this thread -- and the thread about Miami transvestites scaring DeSantis into revoking liquor licenses -- arguing for less government intervention, so maybe you should say that.

Yeah, good luck with that. Good luck selling the current Democratic Party as "Libertarians."

So now you call me a liar. I have a consistent position. I as a conservative don’t think it’s any of the governments business.

I mean, good luck selling the current Republican party as "libertarians," either. At least Democrats don't make claims to be for small government.

Even abortion until point of birth? It's a very simple question.

I wouldn't say DeSantis is "libertarian," but some Republicans are libertarians. Rand Paul is one example.

Me, it depends on the issue. The older I get, the less bumper stickers (and that's what claiming small government is) make sense or paint a complete picture. I'm small government on some things, I'm not on others.

So your post was a non-sequitor and had nothing to do with the post you quoted?

It had to do with mascots of political parties, so it had something to do with the post I quoted.

That I have answered. I don’t think that the government should have a say in the medical decisions made by women and their professionals. If the woman and her physicians make that call, I support their right to make the call. I am not qualified to have a position on it.

Shh... just give him the easy out so that he doesn't have to explain why he immediately thinks of Democrats when people start talking about "limited government."

So you support abortion until point of birth if the White coats support it and the woman supports it.

Just say it, brother. Say it loud and say it proud. No euphemisms, no evasion. That's your position. Own it.

No, I thought of political party mascots when another poster mentioned political party mascots.

My goodness... some of ya'll. :D
