Yep. Pretty simple. You raise your kids, I'll raise mine. These culture warriors who presume themselves upon the rest of us can piss right off.
I want to add that "everyone" does not ignore it. I have 3 kids. 1 of them wont go anywhere she isnt supposed to. Follows the rules to a T. My other daughter is much mor likely to sneak into the movie for instance. My son is 13 and has a bit of both of them. Point being that a blanket "it wont matter" is a terrible parenting strategy.
I agree that a blanket strategy on content is terrible. The issue is that this is an example of people trying to implement a blanket strategy on others utilizing state power, which is even worse from a public policy perspective.
I loved those on coeds but leggings are way hotter on the right woman. (I’m into women got girls now).
I agreed with you on this until a few months ago. One of my old roommates from UF is out in the singles world again. He told me that leggings should either be banned or subject to false advertising claims, based on what they can hide or even shape.. But your right, on the right woman they do look hot.
So, for the sake of reaching a solution are we ok with requiring notification in advance as a happy medium?
Republicans… small government in theory, big government in practice since…pretty much forever. But it seems to be getting markedly worse. It is ironic though that the party that keeps saying “the government can’t tell me what I can and can’t do with my life and my kids” suddenly cares what other parents consider age appropriate for theirs.
Why would that surprise you. Have I ever told anyone to move out of the country? My question was a serious one. The show in question had the allegations against it. Are people denying that this happened?
For clarity, I am not asking for the law to tell parents what to do with their kids as much as I would like the law to require advance notice SO parents can decide what to do with their kids.
Notification of what? And in advance of what? Are you going to need advance notice at sporting events that a coach might utilize adult language during a game? A parental advisory sticker before all ages concerts? I'm not sure how a governmental content reporting requirement before live events would work...
That should go without saying. The place hosting the performance should fully disclose the contents of any show open to children so parents can make an informed decision.
Does this also apply to those on TH who are fine with little or no restrictions in moral areas, that believe public standards need to match their morality?
On one hand, drag queens twerking in front of children getting handed dollar bills... On the other, NFL cheerleaders. What's the difference guys? I can't tell.
I can’t tell you how many times I walked into a drag show with my kids and was surprised a drag show was being put on.
I agree. Whats weird is that it clearly doesnt go without saying to all (example post just above yours) And I find it odd that we cant come to even that consensus.
