Rough and similar starts for our big 2 head coaches. Hopefully things pick up for both this off season and of course in the upcoming campaigns.
Bottom line - at the current State UCF is better than us at football and basketball -- and they are getting ready to move into a real conference. Not a good look for the Gators. Getting hammered last night, hurts. Imagine "if" Caselton doesn't come back, how much uglier this season would have been
I believe this is the first time since 1979 that both football and basketball have had losing records.
Can only get better. Got to be rock bottom. Like when people throw in towel on stock market. No one left to sell. Can only go higher. I hope so, cause this season was horrifying. Reminds me of the 90-91 season. After that year, the bad apples were gone, and we got right. Problem is that we had the great Lon Kruger to lead us. Todd Golden? No Lon Kruger.
It's just a question rightfully or wrongfully of who gets thrown out first....Strickland, Golden or Napier
You toss the AD first. There is no way in hell you let Stricklin make the decision on these jobs again.
??? In basketball, the Big 12 is far and away the best conference. Kansas, Baylor, Iowa St, TCU. Texas Tech has had some very good teams in recent years.
Programs in trouble. Watching bama and auburn, we are no where near their level. Then with the class Kentucky is bringing in. We are way behind. why would a kid transfer to Florida right now?
I agreed on this. They seemed to be going half speed. How can a defense be everywhere we pass the ball? CTG I don’t know how he felt, but small micro crowd, crappy uninspired play. On National tv, anybody picking up our transfers should examine the effort and basketball iq before going all in.
Bama is new $ in hoops. They mostly sucked forever until this Oats guy. We nearly beat Auburn at Auburn this year. I agree that the program is down, but in trouble? Ehh, it ain't football and can be turned around quick (see Bama). To your question, a transfer would go to FL for many reasons - great school, good facilities, hot coeds, energetic new coach, and perhaps more than anything, an opportunity to step in and be the man. I think we just need one dog to come in, who might then attract some others. If we get that stud transfer, others might follow. If we don't, it will be another year of wait and see.
They will get seven years at least! They need to be able to get their guys, build the culture and figure out the game they are coaching. Only then, do we little people get any credit for saying they were a reach, LOL!
In this day and age, no one gets 7 years. The AD will be the first to go and deservedly so. With a new President at the helm, its far more likely than not that the plug gets pulled on Stricklin within the next year or so. Golden will get 3 years to move the needle. Napier will most likely get a fourth year. Of course, both have different expectations placed on them as to what their program is capable.
