Yep and honestly, I’m not sure why we would expect them to allow one of our drones to fly freely in that area. Our tradecraft was detected and the Russians called our bluff. It is what it is.

Potentially the video if released will confirm this. My question is why dump fuel which is necessary for flight operations? Admittedly this was an intelligence gathering mission. The claim is nothing on the drone would be salvageable if it is retrieved. Secretary Austin is talking with his Russian counterpart but will not reveal what the conversation entailed. Lines of communication remain open. Gen. Milley has a scheduled talk with his Russian counterpart which is yet to occur.
