Probably, but that was back when Florida was free and trusted parents to have difficult conversations rather than file lawsuits if they didnt like something.
You are good with the first scenario, kids at lewd drag queen shows, and so you consider that a made up issue. You are not good with child beauty pageants, and therefore conclude they must be child abuse. There are people posting in this thread who consider kids at lewd drag queen shows to be also child abuse. Why push back on them? Why not provide children the most protections?
I don’t have a problem at all with you feeling that way. In adult company, adults are free to say that and I have no objection. I also know that I did not appreciate having to discipline my children for using language that they read on a bumper sticker during Scott’s term as governor. I suppose that many parents feel the same way having to deal with the “F” Joe Biden stickers as well as the ones that portray something getting pissed on. I’m no prude. I enjoy dirty comedy. In my younger days I frequented strip clubs with my buddies. A drag review is fine for adults. If an adult isn’t smart enough to know what kind of show they are walking into, that’s on them. But we should all be able to agree, that kids don’t belong in strip clubs, drag reviews, adult movies, and certainly not sex clubs. The motion picture industry, strip clubs, and sex clubs have all done a very good job policing themselves. I’ve never seen Rick’s, Rachel’s, Gold Club, or Cheetah Club have a float in a parade. I don’t think it is too much to ask of the Drag Review industry to be good community partners. I don’t like heavy handed government, but I can also see both sides of the equation here.
True, maybe if my parents had been allowed to sue UCF because they heard a curse word I could have gone to Harvard or lived off a trust fund or something. If only Ron was around back then.
I thought your comments in this post were overall pretty measured I just suspect "drag reviews" from this one sentence is too broad. Sex shows should not have children in them as you stated and I cant think of an instance where operators allow that to happen. Dudes singing or acting silly in drag isnt really offensive and definitely not obscene, no one is claiming nudity. Right wing culture police are really mad about men dressing up in general or being overtly gay I suspect.
Maybe. That isnt the topic of the thread. Just trying to square up his false accusation that I support that garbage.
Don't worry, these Leftists will move to Canada if A Pub wins the next election. Or so they keep promising us that they will.
