I remember when we won the second title in basketball coming off the football and basketball titles the year before and we’re about to win football again, and thinking “we are going to get karmic pay back for this at some point”. I just didn’t realize it would be 15 years worth.

That would be a shame, while he had a hard time finishing, he showed a lot of talent and promise. Unfortunately, talent and promise has not been groomed since billy left. Golden still has an opportunity.

I wouldn't have expected any other answer at this point. Like all players of his ability, it will probably depend in a large part on NIL. We know other places will be throwing cash at him. This is the new reality of college athletics.

With all this NIL nonsense, I’ve gotten to the point where I have totally lost interest in college sports. I miss the old days of continuity and looking forward to players developing to the program they COMMITTED to. It’s sad cause I love my Gators, but these kids show no loyalty to the school the play for.

Yeah… it has really sapped my fan enthusiasm. Aside from Covid, this is the first time I missed the sec tourney in 23 years. It’s just hard to connect with teams that are here and gone.

I really enjoyed fau games this year… and attended nearly every home game. The roster consists of a bunch of under recruited kids who have worked and developed together for years.

I hope we don’t become prisoners of the portal.

College sports are a joke. The name on the front of the jersey means absolutely ZERO. It's professional athletes playing minor league sports, with totally unrestricted free agency. Not even a contract to bind the athlete in any way. It's a farce to consider it amateur athletics. The athlete does not give a rats ass about your school. It's ALL about the Benjamin's.

Can't blame him, the team is horrid, he has no low post or other players to open things up for him.

Good point, I guess teams adapted over the past two games. He seemed frustrated today and saw alot of double teams.

Well if he transferred that would be some bs. Doomsday type stuff for college bb.

It’s possible as a high rated (near 5* recruit) he’s thinking about “testing the waters” of the NBA and is thus noncommittal. Guys much farther away than him have made the jump to D-league. With NIL you’d think even FL could be more lucrative for him than D-league. Rendering the draft an unwise decision. But I guess we’ll see.

Obviously Gator fans don’t want to hear that response, but then again, it’s an honest answer that he can’t be faulted for. It is what it is. I’ve thought throughout the year he seemed to have an attitude issue, or at best just seemed to not play with much passion. Hopefully it works out. He should be a major building block if he stays.

I think there's a high probability he leaves.

I hope not, he's by far the most talented, biggest upside on our roster.

Then again, I don't think he thought when he signed with UF, that things would go south. He has little help out there and being a part of another program that is winning will have a lot of allure.

If Kugel leaves, what exactly is Golden selling? I hope he's back and Golden brings in 4 or 5 solid transfers because it looks like that's what it's going to take to be good next year. Without Kugel, the climb is even steeper.

Has that question ever provided a useful response or is it always an effort to seek out a non-committal response to stir up controversy among a fan base? No matter what he says there, he's fully entitled to change his mind after the fact. Or maybe it's as simple as he's just genuinely not interested in the question right after the game is over?

They got NIL help for that as well as Colin being invested in UF.

Kugel may have better options with a blue blood program and a chance to win championships.

I know the reality of the NIL, but to me it is going to be about what does he feel is the best chance to develop enough to get drafted next year? Obviously, Golden sold CC on the notion that he could help him (mixed results in improvement) and I would venture he has a line for Kugel also. The question is, will he believe it?

Methinks, besides a couple of SEC-caliber bigs, he needs a much better PG to get his interest. This all sounds familiar.
